Sand Wash Basin Wild Horses

Sand Wash Basin Wild Horses This page is dedicated to the mustangs that call NW Colorado home....The FEW the PROUD...THE SAND WASH MUSTANGS. We are their admirers and guardians.

My name is Nancy Roberts, I am the sole administrator for this page I created in 2009 for The Wild Horses of Sand Wash Basin. From fall of 2009 until the summer of 2012 I went out to visit the horses around 500 times. I now promote their beauty, freedom and behaviors through my photos and video clips. I originally started this page to have a public documentation and a place where we could vote on

names to ID them so we would be able to keep track of this public herd, but that failed and now the documentation I started has fallen into the hands of a few select people, including the BLM. Their main focus is to find new foals. They get "naming rights" if they find a post a photo to face book. Over looked are the horses that escape, die or just vanish in this huge high desert landscape the wild horses call home. This works against the wild horses as The BLM can round up after they have reached a certain number they made up years ago. We are way above that number. Our Mustangs are in trouble. I believe there will be a helicopter round up here if we do not get it together and help our friends. ~ Nancy~
