The Steamboat Springs Running Series provides, low cost, family friendly races throughout Routt County. We donated $30,000 to local charities and nonprofits in 2019!

Coming into the final stretch of trail before the finish line!

Join us this Sunday, September 6th for the iconic 10l@10!

This event features a 10K, actually almost 7 miles, and a 5K on rabbit ears pass. The 10K starts at 10:00 AM and the 5K 5 minutes later. The 10K is a loop in the 5K and out and back towards the Ear's.

This race begins and ends at the 10,000 ft Dumont trailhead and is one of the oldest in the state of Colorado.

Packet pick up will be on Saturday from 4 to 6:00 PM.

We are excited this year for the 10K@10 to be part of the Trail Fest! Trail fest is a celebration of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail, of which the 10K at 10,000 runs on. Trail Fest is going on all week in Steamboat to bring CDT hikers, visitors and locals together to learn about conservation and recreation opportunities on the trail.

Thie is a great race and we hope you will join us!

The following day on Monday the 7th, please head to the town of Oak Creek for their Labor Day festivities, where you'll have an opportunity to join the Oak Creek No Fun Run 5k! We are proud that we have races and communities that we can promote in the southern part of our county in Oak Creek, the western part of Routt county in Hayden, and the northern part of the county in Clark/Hahn's Peak, in addition to Steamboat.

We are a community that loves to celebrate the last runner as much as the first. We do, however, need to shout out some fabulous friends, SSRS volunteers and other locals who did some amazing things this weekend at the Leadville 100 Run. Also, hats off to the Leadville race series for even pulling it off, it has been such a challenging summer for everyone who directs races.

We are getting excited as we are only 9 days out from one of our favorite days of the year, the Continental Divide Trail Run!

We are excited to welcome you for the 50K, 16 mile and 5 mile events beginning and ending at and . Registration is still open for a few more days and you can sign up at www.runningseries.com.

Look for an email next week by Wednesday if you are already signed up with all of the details that you need. Packet pick up will be from 4-6 PM the night before.

Change is in the air! 🍂🍃🍁

The seasons are slowly starting to change, and thankfully the with it some cooler weather is settling into Steamboat. We still have quite a few options for racing opportunities here in the valley for 2026!

Join us for one or all of the following!

August 29th The Continental Divide Trail Run 50k/16M/5M. Fabulous mountain races, beginning and ending at

September 6th: The 10k@10,000ft is a 10k+/5k on Rabbit Ears Pass

September 7th: Oak Creek No Fun Run 5k Part of the OC Labor Day festivities

October 3rd: The Emerald Mountain Trail Run 12k/4M Golden atrail run and end of season points party!

October 31st: Halloween 5K The spooky family friendly Halloween Run on the day this year!

Join us on September 6th for the 10K at 10,000 feet at 10 o'clock AM!

This race first started almost 50 years ago and is one of the oldest and most classic in the state of Colorado.

The 10K, actually 6.8 miles, is a great counterclockwise loop on rabbit ears pass. The 5K is an out and back up towards the Ears.

Both are sure to get your heart pumping and provide a fun grassroots atmosphere for some great labor day trail running fun!

This year, we are so excited to be part of the Trailfest happening in Steamboat that weekend! Come celebrate everything about the Continental Divide Trail which the race runs along, and find out more information at their booth at the race. Remember both courses also run along parts of the 50 mile course as well!

Finish off the weekend with the last summer free concert that Sunday night at Howelsen Hill Ski Area.

AND join us on Monday that weekend for the Town of Oak Creek No Fun Run 5K that is part of the Labor Day festivities in Oak Creek! Double the running fun

This one is for the ladies!

We know that historically at mountain races, sometimes as the distance goes up, female participation numbers go down. As women and mothers we understand more than anyone the multitude of reasons of why this might be.

Last year at our Continental Divide Trail Run, the amazing 50K had about a 32% finisher rate from the ladies and our stout 16M ( 25k++) had a ~55% female finisher rate, both amazing!

Both of these races are challenging, beginning with a 3300 ft climb to the top of and we love to see the ladies taking on the challenge!

This race is led by female race directors, and ( slide 14) and the series is directed by

Currently, our 50K is at 45% female entrants and the 16M is at 70%, the highest numbers yet! We also offer a 5 mile route that has plenty of challenge packed into those 5 miles. We love to see this 💪

This is such a beautiful event and always offers amazing camaraderie and competition for women and men. We are are also happy to offer a non-binary category. The race travels all over the stunning single track at the resort and offers some of the most beautiful views of the Yampa Valley. The 50K further takes runners out along the Mountain View Trail to Long Lake, a beautiful lake at the head of the Fish Creek drainage near the Continental Divide.

What a day at the Spring Creek Memorial Trail Run!

We don't know what it is, but this race seems to just embody everything beautiful about Steamboat and it's community! This race was created as a reminder to safely share the trails after Patty Brenner was tragically hit by a car running on the lower portion of the trail. We are proud to continue this tradition 35+ years later.

Thank you to our sponsors and everyone who came out today to run these beautiful courses, we had a great turnout. Special thank you to the private land owners that allow us to run through their beautiful property for this race!
