The City of Sterling Heights is taking the next step toward building a premier indoor pickleball facility — one of the exciting projects funded through the voter-approved Pathway to Play and Preservation millage.

On Tuesday, Sept. 2, City Council will review a proposal to purchase property at 35630 Van D**e Avenue that would transform the site into the first municipally funded indoor pickleball facility in Macomb County.

The proposed design includes nine official pickleball courts, six tournament-ready table tennis courts, gathering and café space, locker rooms, a party room, and unique features such as a zen room and nursing mother’s room.

Residents will have the chance to learn more and share input at a community listening session on Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Sterling Heights Community Center.
