Trivia Unplugged is a fundraising event for the Arts Alliance of Portage County. It is a resource free trivia contest. No books, notes, phones, computers or any electronic devices are allowed. The sixth annual contest is being held on September 27th, 2014 at the
Noel Hanger in Stevens Point, WI. The Competition is six hours long, running from 3pm to 9pm. Tailgating starts at 1 o'clock in the park
ing area and on the lawn area outside the hangar. There will be a bar outside beginning at 1. The doors to the Hangar will open at 2pm. Teams need to check in and pick up their packet and team badges. Teams that have not pre-registered may also register at this time if there are any openings left. Registration /check-in must be completed by 2:30pm. You may bring as many team members as you wish. The contest starts promptly at 3pm with a maximum of 10 team members allowed to sit at your team’s table in the competition area. Alternate team members and spectators can observe the competition in the spill off area. Alternate team members may be substituted at any time between questions. A team member leaving the competition area must hand off their badge to a substitute team member. No one enters the competition room without a badge. Questions will be projected on a screen. Teams discuss among themselves to find the answers without divulging the answer to other teams. The music helps to obscure your voices from the teams next to you. Each question will last for the length of one song. When one song is over, answer sheets will be collected, the answer will be announced and the next question will be asked and so on. There will be a break at the end of each hour. During the break, the team ranking will be announced. At the end of the contest there will be a final rundown of the teams. Trophies will be awarded at that time. There will be a mixer for about an hour afterwards. Once again, NO electronic devices including telephones are permitted in the competition room. If the phone in your pocket rings, not only will you be embarrassed, but your team will also be disqualified. We recommend that you keep your phone (etc.) in your car or with a non-playing spectator. You may leave the competition area at any time to check your phone messages or during the breaks at the end of each hour. If you leave the competition area during a question, you may only re-enter upon the end of that question. Also, there are no books allowed, no paper, no pens and no pencils. Pencils and paper will be provided. From the Arts Alliance…
