Please see info below for Northfield Rd. Mill/Paving schedule and detour below:

NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION
TOWNSHIP OF LONG HILL
May 2, 2025
RE: Northfield Road (Valley Rd- Long Hill Rd)
Dear Resident:
Please be advised that Milling/Paving operations are scheduled to begin on May 5, 2025. Construction hours will be weekdays 7:00am – 5:00pm. Be aware that the roadway will be shut down at times to all automobile traffic. Residents are encouraged to be mindful of the operations going on, and if you need to get in or out of your home it should be done prior to the work being done in front of your home. Failure to do so can result in your automobile being trapped in your driveway until the new asphalt roadway cools. Be aware that tack oil (glue) may be on the existing roadway surface and newly laid asphalt can be damaged if driven on before it has cooled. All work is weather pending and inclement weather will push the schedule to the next allowable day. Police will be onsite to help aid residents and enforce the closures. No parking signs will be posted and cars parked within working limits will be towed at the owner’s expense. The entire roadway will be milled out before paving operations begin.
We appreciate your cooperation and apologize in advance for any inconveniences. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Engineering Department, (908) 647-8000 xtn. 214. Please do not discuss any of your concerns with the men working in the field as they do not have the authority to make any unapproved changes.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation and look forward to the completion of a successful project.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Fischer
