Small Creek Alliance The Small Creek Alliance is a network of government and non governmental organizations working cooperatively to reduce violence in Central DeKalb, Georgia.

It Takes a Village ! We will reduce violence in the DeKalb community through a united effort to improve the quality of health, experiences, and infrastructure for at risk youth and their households. We aim to build productive citizens that are conscious consumers, voters, and neighbors.

After months of organizing by groups like the DeKalb Citizens Coalition, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners rejected a controversial data center project.

The project was slated to be a 95-acre data center site in Ellenwood, a predominantly Black community. Residents and organizers celebrated the victory.

“These victories are a reminder that these tech-billionaire projects that are imposed on our communities are not inevitable. When the people organize, we can defeat the attacks by the billionaire class. In Georgia, we must continue to fight for a ban to protect our community and our future,” said the Party for Socialism and Liberation Atlanta.

Listening to my mom put together her programs and fliers and even realizing when ordering food that this town is losing its recognition. I guess just knowing some of my family history is rooted in this place concerning schools, parks, cemeteries, and lodges and I would be disappointed if I could no longer identify G-town as my family’s home. They say it’s about 5,500 people, so it might be worth the dialogue to discuss official historical designations for a district or even annexing(starting your own city) if you don’t feel like the county will fairly address the needs of your community. Just an outsider’s opinion.
