Why UlsterCorps?

Join our community of Ulster County residents who are reaching out to help people and projects in need. In early 2009, a small group of committed volunteers launched UlsterCorps to bring other volunteers together with the organizations in Ulster County that rely on their help. Since its inception UlsterCorps has connected thousands of people with dozens of Ulster County agencies that provide food,

clothing, shelter, emergency services, literacy training, child and elder care, animal welfare, and more to the area’s most vulnerable residents. UlsterCorps has become a vital, collaboration-building resource for nonprofit agencies, civic and religious organizations, businesses, schools, government and volunteers of all ages. Volunteerism is central to sustaining healthy, resilient communities, and UlsterCorps volunteers offer diverse talents, availability, interests, and abilities. Through its comprehensive website www.UlsterCorps.org, volunteers can choose from a wide range of opportunities to serve the needs of others, from one-time events to ongoing commitments that meet their abilities, interests and time availability. Volunteers can also register online for e-newsletters and Action Alerts that notify them of timely events in need of community support. Nonprofit agencies and other engaged groups can find information about collaborative initiatives on our website.

SPARKLE AND SHINE, BRINGING LOCAL TO LIGHT!

4th of July Community Celebration

Local at Heart is planning a GRAND FIREWORKS show, entertainment, food, and fun for the whole family at the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz. It’s going to be a great event for a good cause. Don’t miss it!

This 4th of July Celebration & Fireworks Event is a fundraiser supporting local food pantries. Your support makes a meaningful impact, bringing our community together while giving back.

Volunteers will receive 2 tickets for the volunteer and a friend to enter the fairgrounds. VIP Parking as well.
We are trying to allow for shifts of volunteers so they can still enjoy some of the event.
Duties may include grounds/vendor support, gate greeters,and parking assistance.

EVENT DETAILS
$5 Admission | Kids under 10 FREE
Gates open at 5pm. Fireworks at dusk. Stay for music after the fireworks!

What We Have Planned
A fireworks show will close out our 4th of July celebration, but there’s so much more planned to bring our community together and have fun.

Enjoy food trucks and a beer garden, live music, interactive kids’ entertainment with a sensory-safe zone, a crafting center, puppet shows, face painting, a karate demo, a car show, wine tastings, a variety of local vendors… and more!

Now accepting donations for our Kids Clothing Swap, sizes Newborn - 16. Please bring clean, gently used donations in a bag or box to the library front desk. Thank you! From our friends at People's Place:

As we expand our food pantry hours to better serve our neighbors, we're looking for a few more volunteers to join our team!

Starting in July, the food pantry will be open Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays from 10:00am - 1:00pm with extended hours on:

Tuesdays: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Wednesdays: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

We're especially hoping to find volunteers who are available between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays.
Whether you can help every week or just occasionally, your time & support make a real difference for families in our community.

Can you commit to a volunteering at least one time per week? If you're interested in lending a hand, we'd love to hear from you!
