Due to our county restrictions, Sons of Norway-Mandt Lodge 5-314 is canceling our fish boil, bake sale, and how the family Christmas event will be handled. Please remove all three from your calendars if they are still on! Bingo is also canceled until at 2021.

These are the dates they were supposed to be:
Fish boil- October 9
Bake and Vendor Sale- November 21
Family Christmas Event- December 12

Thanks so much for understanding. Crazy times for sure! We are trying to figure out a way to do the Family Christmas event but it won't be anything like our normal one!

We appreciate your patience as we work out our re-opening plan but the safety of our members, customers and general public is our first concern.

We are collecting gently used coats, hats, scarves, gloves and mittens at the lodge until October 8 and I can run them up to Klinke's on October 9.

Set them by the side entrance door (between the lodge and Livsreise) and we'll check that area when we check the mail each day. Please put them in some type of bag in case of rain the day you drop them off.

Wonderful article highlighting Jason Jacobson and Diane Maurer for their winning picture contributions for the Nordic-American photographers contest found in today's "The Stoughton Courier Hub." Congratulations!
Hi gang! Nothing mentioned here, but I assume the Fall fish boil is cancelled?
Images of Norway by Finn, 3rd grade Kegonsa student. In this picture you will see Vikings rowing a boat, Norwegian dancers and a troll. I hope you liked my picture.
Syttende Mai Fun by Jasper, 3rd grade Kegonsa student. Syttende Mai means spending time with family, having lots of fun and being active.
Syttende Mai by Emma, 3rd grade Kegonsa student. I enjoy the Norwegian culture. I also enjoyed making Krumkake at the lodge.
Syttende Mai by Clayton, 3rd grade Kegonsa student. People gather to sing, dance and play music.
Vikings by Titan, 3rd grade Kegonsa student. Viking, Leif Erikson beat Columbus to America by 500 years. His dad Erik the Red discovered Greenland. Vikings were excellent boat makers and sailors. They buried their dead in boats. Vikings gave us the word berserk. Vikings believed in many gods like Thor the god of thunder and Loki, a mischief-maker who could shape-shift. Not all VIkings were raiders. Many traveled to become farmers, crafters or to trade goods.
Syttende Mai art by Monica, 3rd grade Kegonsa student. Syttende Mai is Norwegian Independence Day. It means 17th of May. It is celebrated in Stoughton because the first settlers were Norwegian. Did you know that Stoughton has the 2nd largest Syttende Mai celebration in the world?
Syttende Mai art by Bradley, 3rd grade Kegonsa student. Syttende Mai is a local event. There are many fun activities.
The Canoe Race by Andrew, 3rd grade Kegonsa student. This drawing is of the canoe race which is my favorite part to watch during Syttende Mai.
I Love Rosemaling by Lily, 3rd grade Kegonsa student. I like celebrating Syttende Mai and this is my first time rosemaling. My grandma Goplen paints rosemaling too! It makes me happy that you are still having this contest even though Syttende Mai is canceled.
Stay tuned for 3rd grade art...
