Thereโs been a lot said on community pages lately, and I want to address it directly.
I understand that as a public official, people are absolutely entitled to their opinions, and they should be. Thatโs part of the role. But those opinions should be based on what I am or am not actually doing, not on assumptions. ๏ฟผAnd we all know what happens when we assume. People who have left the township have done so. I donโt control that. All I ask is that people follow procedures and protocols because that MATTERS.
Being accused of โisolating commissionersโ is honestly ironic, considering the history of how communication has functioned in this town long before I took office in January. I show up, I speak openly, and I address concerns publicly, where transparency actually exists.
Now letโs talk about the issue thatโs suddenly getting attentionโฆrodents in our neighborhoods. Are these concerns something that have been brought to prior commissioners over the years, or is this just now being presented as a new issue? Because based on what many residents themselves are saying, this has been an ongoing problem for years, not something that just started in January.
If thatโs the case, then the focus should be on real, long-term solutions, not using long-standing issues as a way to target newly elected officials or create a false narrative.
If you have concerns, bring them to public meetings or email us. Every matter that has been brought to my attention via email or public forum has been then discussed at a meeting, because I have shown up to every meeting. Thatโs where your voice is heard, thatโs where discussion happens, and thatโs how real change is made.
I will continue to show up, speak honestly, and do the work. Always.
Accountability matters, but so does accuracy. If weโre going to have conversations, letโs make sure theyโre rooted in facts, not assumptions.
Thank you.
