🚲 E-Bike Safety & Rules Reminder
Sharing this PennDOT information sheet because I think it’s important for everyone who rides an e-bike to know the rules and, most importantly, stay safe.
In Pennsylvania, e-bikes are treated as pedalcycles with electric assist. Riders must be at least 16 years old, and e-bikes are limited to a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph on a level surface. The laws that apply to bicycles also apply to e-bikes.
Please follow the rules of the road, be aware of cars and pedestrians, use lights and reflectors when required, and wear a helmet — even when it isn’t legally required.
And please be respectful to the people you’re sharing the road with. Don’t ride aggressively, don’t be rude to drivers, and remember that everyone deserves to get where they’re going safely.
Follow the rules. Be respectful. Be safe. 🚲
