..RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 10 PM CDT THURSDAY FOR VERY DRY AND WINDY CONDITIONS FOR MUCH OF NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA...

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 9 AM to 10 PM CDT Thursday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...IN Oklahoma, Nowata, Craig, Ottawa, Tulsa, Rogers, Mayes, Delaware, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, and Wagoner counties.

* WIND...South-Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 TO 40 mph.

* HUMIDITY...25 to 40 percent.

* TEMPERATURE...Upper 80s to mid 90s.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A red flag warning means that a dangerous combination of weather conditions and dry vegetation is expected within 24 hours, favoring rapid growth and spread of any wildfires. The primary weather factors include stronger winds, lower humidities, and warmer temperatures.

We would like to Congratulate Braden Richardson and Josh Rhine on winning our 5th Annual Hunt with a total weight of 89.8 pounds!!

🔥Be advised we are aware of the fire at the Strang Bridge
It is a controlled and contained burn at this time and we are monitoring it!

It will be smolding for a while and will have little pop up flames here and there for the next several hours

As the county comes into town tomorrow these will be the routes you can and cannot drive while they are working

Yellow - accessible
Red - not accessible where construction is happening

I believe they start at 7am every morning

Update Update Update

The road is back open !!!’nnn

Mayes County will be closing sections at the road from Highway 82 to East road in Strang from 1/6/26 till 1/9/2026 to ashpalt this section or road.please find alternative routes.

The road will be open after 7:00pm each day.
