Earlier this week, Carolann Reid received the Democratic endorsement for State Senate District 21.

We are proud to share in that excitement and congratulate Carolann on this important step forward.

Carolann is bringing energy, focus, and a real commitment to the people of this district. She is ready to fight for working families, safer communities, strong schools, affordable housing, and economic opportunity.

The Stratford DTC is proud to stand with Carolann and support her campaign.

Momentum is building, and we are ready to keep it going.

Last night was a big night for Stratford Democrats.

The Stratford Democratic Town Committee proudly endorsed three outstanding public servants for reelection:

State Rep. Joe Gresko
State Rep. Kaitlyn Shake
Judge Max L. Rosenberg

Joe, Kaitlyn, and Max know Stratford. They show up, listen, and fight for the people they serve.

We were also proud to welcome Connecticut State Treasurer Erick Russell, who joined us and spoke with our members. During his first term, Treasurer Russell has brought an innovative approach to public finance, showing that responsible investing and economic equity can go hand in hand.

Thank you, Treasurer Russell, for taking the time to be with us.

Thank you to every DTC member who came out, participated, and helped move this work forward.

The energy is real. The work is underway. And Stratford Democrats are ready.

Where was Jason Perillo?

This past Saturday, a bipartisan budget adjustment passed the Connecticut Senate 30 to 6 and the House 127 to 21. This bill provides critical new funding for our schools and town services. It is specifically designed to take the pressure off our property taxpayers.

Despite support from both parties, Senator Jason Perillo voted no.

His vote was a vote against $1,618,526 for Stratford.

He also voted against:
$498,576 for Shelton
$262,322 for Monroe
$590,911 for Seymour

Senator Perillo claims he opposed the budget because it prioritizes spending. We disagree. This funding is real relief for our town and our neighbors. It supports our students and helps keep our local government running without placing the full burden on you.

Our community needed this support. Thankfully, other leaders from both parties stepped up to pass this budget anyway. Stratford deserves a representative who puts our needs first.

Thanks to State Representative Kaitlyn Shake and colleagues for your work to provide financial protection for workers injured on the job. It was great watching you defend your section on the House floor!

Time for the Senate to vote on this important bill‼️

Stratford is showing up.

We are live right now at Town Hall Green for the No Kings rally. Seeing so many neighbors peacefully standing together to defend democracy is incredible. When our families and values are under attack, our community pushes back.

We will be out here until 2 PM. Come down and join the crowd. We are making our voices heard loudly and clearly.

No thrones. No crowns. No kings.

We had a packed house this past Saturday at Obodo Serendipity Books. Thank you to everyone who came out for a great conversation with Connecticut Democratic Party Vice Chair Jimmy Tickey.

It was wonderful to see local leaders like Lisa Carroll Fabian, Town Councilwoman, District 7, State Representative Kaitlyn Shake, and Jill D'Angelo-Powers joining the discussion about Jimmy's new book "Organizing to Win." Grassroots organizing and engaged citizens are exactly what we need to build a healthier democracy right here in Stratford.

We are proud of the work our local leaders are doing to move Stratford forward. If you are ready to make a real difference and help us keep that momentum going, we need you on our team. We are always looking for volunteers who want to get off the sidelines.

Head over to www.stratforddemocrats.com to learn how you can get involved. Make sure to stop by Obodo Serendipity Books to pick up a copy of the book if you missed the event.
