The office also issues hunting, fishing, dog, bingo, and other state licenses and permits. The County Treasurer is responsible for processing all taxes and other monies due to the county. Additional duties include custody, disbursement, and maintaining all records of financial transactions. The Treasurer's office is also an agent for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the issuing of various lice

nses. These licenses include fishing, antlerless deer, dog, hunting, furtaker, bingo, small games of chance, and sportsman firearm permits.

In June, I had the honor of representing Monroe County at the PA County Treasurers' Association 77th Annual Convention. As a newly elected treasurer, connecting with veteran treasurers across Pennsylvania to discuss system modernization and fiscal management was invaluable. My main focus is to leverage smarter short and long term investment strategies to increase county revenue and ease the financial burden of residents and constituents of Monroe County.

I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to appoint and promote Georgeanne Tokar as my new 2nd Deputy Treasurer! “Georgie’s” work ethic and knowledge of the financial systems and inter-workings of our department made her a great candidate and choice for this role. As an added bonus, her mom came in with a gift of flowers, so we took that opportunity to do her ceremonial swearing in so that mom could be there in person! congratulations Georgie!
