Deportation vigils Thursday, September 18th at 11:30 AM

On July 1st there was an interfaith vigil protesting mass deportations of immigrants. The Leaders attempted to meet with each of Long Island's Congressional representatives in August to share their concerns.

Regrettably, not one of them was willing to schedule a meeting. They
are now planning deportation vigils outside their LI offices on Thursday, September 18th at 11:30 AM to express anger at their refusal to meet and deliver their statement to their office staff.

They need you for one hour at the office of your Congressional representative on September 18th at 11:30Am. Please RSVP to [email protected] if you can attend.

If you are not sure in whichcongressional district you reside, consult "Find My Congressman": https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

Thank you.

📰 New Column Alert!
Nancy Marr explores NY's Medical Aid in Dying Act (Death with Dignity Act) - legislation that would give terminally ill New Yorkers the right to choose end-of-life care on their own terms.
The bill has passed both Assembly & Senate with strong safeguards. Now it's up to Governor Hochul to sign it into law.
