Deciding the Future of Fire Service

Early Voting is underway! Fort Bend County Emergency Services District No. 5, which funds Northeast Fort Bend County Fire Department, has placed a Proposition on the May 1, 2021 ballot.

This Proposition is NOT a property tax increase.

Proposition A allows voters to choose to adopt up to 1% sales tax, where available within District boundaries, to be used for emergency services. Sales tax is a great way for non-property owners who travel to and through the District to help contribute to funding emergency response they sometimes use. Currently, funding of the District is borne solely by property owners.

People will see NO increase in their sales tax when they shop at businesses where they are already at the state maximum of 8.25%.
