We had a great turnout for our 50th Anniversary today. The heat was almost unbearable but that didn’t stop the kids from enjoy the “fishing hole.” Here are a few pictures from the day.

Update of the stories scheduled in the Chapel on Saturday, September 5, 10-3. Paula Altenbaumer will present on the half hour and Pat Goggans will present on the hour.

We don’t have the exact schedule times for our music venue for Saturday but it will continue from 10:00 to 3:00 with these three bands. Paula Altenbaumer and Pat Goggans will be telling us historical stories in the Chapel. Not listed are Pat’s topics but maybe stories from the Wilson Family and/or the Glasscock’s Family. Eddie Trapp will be telling tales of his trapping days and a few outdoor man “How Toos. “You don’t want to miss any part of our festival.
** Hint - when the pulled Pork Sandwiches are gone, they are gone… when the home made ice cream is gone, it’s gone. Come early and stay late. 10-3 Bring CASH for food and souvenirs.

Two events happening in September!

This Saturday we will have live music on our stage! We have three Story Tellers! We have food! We have open buildings with Period Clothing hosts! We have fishing in our pond! We have crafters!

Come enjoy the efforts of 50 years of volunteers that loved our Hopkins County Heritage enough to preserve it!

On September 26th we will have our annual Johnny Chester’s Cookoff!

We had a great meeting with the Genealogical Society on Thursday night. Paula Altenbaumer played a fictional character named “Kate from the Saloon on Main Street.” Check out the Live Video before it disappears.

Fall is springing at Heritage Park!

(2nd pic)The Smith/Gregg home, two story dog trot, has seen many of them. For over a century it has resided in Hopkins County. It’s beginning was in Sulphur Bluff before it was moved to the Park.
