🚒 And the accomplishments keep coming! 🚒

Earlier this summer, several of our members took another big step in their training by earning their Firefighter II certification through Alabama Fire College.

This level of training takes time, dedication, and plenty of hard work - and it makes our department stronger and our community safer. We’re proud of each of you for continuing to push yourselves and get better at what you do!

What a special night for Snook Christian Academy as they officially played on their brand-new football field! While Snook has been a valued part of our community for many years, last night was the start of something new - a place where countless Friday nights, big plays, hard work, and memories will be made for years to come.

The Summerdale Volunteer Fire Department was proud to be there to celebrate this milestone with our friends at Snook Christian Academy.

🚒 A Little Catch-Up! 🚒

This happened earlier this summer, but we’ve been busy hosting classes, attending training, and keeping up with everything in between! Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing some of our members’ accomplishments.

Training is about more than another certification - it’s about being better prepared to serve our community and getting better at what we do. ❤️‍🔥

We’ve still got a couple of seats available in each of these upcoming Alabama Fire College classes hosted right here at Summerdale VFD:

📅 September 12, 13, 26 & 27

🦺 Incident Safety Officer
📅 October 3, 4, 17 & 18

Both classes are held 8 AM - 6 PM on weekends at Summerdale VFD.

If you’ve been thinking about taking one of these classes, now’s the time to get registered! Once these last few seats are gone, they’re gone!

Last night, we had the privilege of recognizing several of our members for their dedication to training and continued service to our department.

The Alabama Fire College InVEST (InState Volunteer Emergency Services Training) Program recognizes the training and education of Alabama’s volunteer firefighters. These coins represent milestones in that training and the commitment it takes to continue learning and growing in the fire service.

Training included fireground communications, downed firefighter drills, search & rescue, and ladder drills.

We’re excited to host the Alabama Fire College for Mobile Fire Suppression Training right here at Summerdale Volunteer Fire Department! 👨‍🚒🔥

📅 Choose your class date: October 19, 20, 21, 22, or 23

We had a great time participating in OWA Parks & Resort’s Community Safety Day! It’s always a privilege to get out in the community, meet our neighbors, and share a little about what we do at Summerdale VFD. ❤️
