I wanted to pause for a moment to say how incredibly thankful I am and how blessed I feel to have the support I do.

From my brother and sister firefighters, paramedics, and police officers, who continue to show up for me and support me from day one.

To my family and friends, and especially my wife, if it were not for their support and understanding, I wouldn’t be able to spend time away from home to serve this great city of ours.

And to my neighbors, whether you were Team Haney from the beginning or have newly joined, your support means more than I can possibly express.

This campaign and the work we are doing aren’t about a single person; it’s about the vision we collectively share, one that doesn’t retreat from a challenge but rises to the moment. Our best days are ahead of us, and I know together we can get there. Thank you so much for your continued support 🇺🇸

For my family, and for yours. Our best days are ahead of us and I believe we can get there, together.

With more than double the minimum amount needed, we are officially on the ballot. I can’t thank you enough for your continued support. It’s time to rise to the occasion. 🇺🇸

The older I get, the more I realize how lucky I am to have grandparents like them. I was blessed to grow up with them by my side, steady, selfless, and always believing in me, even before I fully believed in myself.

They never told me something couldn’t be done. Instead, they poured everything they had into making sure I had the chance to try. They taught me the importance of caring for others and that no dream is too big if you’re willing to work for it, and no setback is final if you have the courage to keep going.

I will forever be grateful that when I first ran for public office, my grandparents were able to cast their vote for me. And I’m even more grateful that I get to continue this journey with them by my side.

For a second time in a row, they signed my petition to put me on the ballot, and it was honestly just as special as the first time. In these local elections, every signature counts. If you want to join my grandparents in helping get me on the ballot, please visit the link below. Your continued support means so much!

One of my first times in this council chamber I was as a student, at our city’s teen summit. I left that day inspired, but also feeling the weight of the responsibility my generation would eventually shoulder to make this world a better place.

Yesterday, in that same chamber, I returned to the teen summit, not as a student this time, but as a council member of this great city.

I stand here because, when I was in their shoes, there were teachers, mentors, and community leaders who believed in me. I am committed to doing the same for the next generation, to stand with them, to listen to them, and to lift their ideas so they can light the path forward.

Almost four years ago, I decided to take a chance.

I was told it wasn’t the right time. I was told I was too young. I was told to wait my turn. And more than a few people told me that politics was too bitter, too divided, too broken for someone fueled by hope and optimism to make a difference.

But I believed something different then, and I believe it even more deeply now.
I believed in the power of people. I believed in the strength of the communities in my hometown. And I believed that when ordinary folks come together around a shared purpose, extraordinary things can happen.

It was you all my neighbors who opened your doors and invited me to your living rooms to talk. The volunteers who gave up their mornings and evenings. The early mornings, the late nights, the phone calls, the conversations. It was people who believed in the idea that our city was worth fighting for.

And together, we shocked the system. Together, you took a political newcomer and entrusted him with the honor of serving as your councilman.

Over these past four years, I’ve seen the political arena up close. I’ve seen its challenges and I’ve seen its frustrations. But I’ve also seen something else, I’ve seen that it can still be a place where people can come together with a shared desire to make things better. Where progress is still possible.

But only if we stay engaged. Because it’s easy to grow cynical. It’s easy to step back. It’s easy to believe that one voice, one person doesn’t matter.

I don’t believe that. I never have.

I believe in choosing optimism over cynicism. I believe in stepping forward instead of stepping back. I believe that real change happens when people have the courage to stay in the arena and fight for one another.

That’s why today, I’m proud to announce that I am running for re-election to the Surprise City Council.

I’m running because I believe our best days are still ahead of us. I want it to be even stronger, even safer, and even more full of opportunity for her generation and the next.

Four years ago, you showed up for me. You believed in me. You walked with me. And together, we built something that mattered.

Today, I’m asking you to believe again. To show up again. To walk with me once more.
Because if we keep working together, keep believing in each other, and keep choosing to show up, there is no limit to what this community can achieve. I would be honored to have your support 🇺🇸

As we continue to step into a new year let us not look at time as a crutch or a hinderance; this is the year that time can be used as a call for all of us to step up. The time to get involved, the time to find more ways to show up for our families and our neighbors, a time to not accept things as they are but for all of us to accept the responsibility to build the city we can be proud of

As we get ready to close out 2025 I wanted to take some time to reflect. Like many of you feel, this month has flown by for me. It has been a month filled with getting together with family and friends, and continuing meaningful traditions, while starting traditions of our own. As busy as this month has been, it has also offered me so many opportunities to pause and think about what truly matters. I will admit that at times it can be challenging to not get caught up in the challenges we are facing as a community. Although I feel like we have accomplished a lot together, I also feel the weight of the work still left to be done.

This final chapter of the year has helped remind me in so many ways what is important in our lives. My life is and will always be centered around family. In my personal life, I have been blessed to be able to watch my wife become such an amazing mom and shining example to our little girl. Whether it’s the long days of being gone doing work on the council or if it’s coming home after being away while on shift at the fire station, there is nothing better than having our daughter sprint towards the door to give me her version of a “big” bear hug.

Throughout this holiday season, I have been able to experience this time of year through her eyes, and it has been better than I could have possibly imagined.

Like you, family means the world to me, and it guides me in the work I do for you all on your behalf. You and your family deserve a city that you take pride in living in. A city that is safe, a city that is responsive, and most importantly a city that is home. There is no denying that our city is growing, and with that growth there comes no shortage of challenges. But I truly believe, in the sincerest of ways, that despite the challenges, together, we are going to make this city live up to everything it can be. Not just for you and me, but for the future generations that we are blessed to have the opportunity to raise.

You have trusted me to go out and do the work to make this possible for you and your family, and I want you to know there is not a day that goes by where I take that for granted.

I hope you all have had some time to stop and enjoy what matters most. It has been great seeing so many neighbors come together, whether at school events or holiday gatherings. These events make our community feel like a big family. It’s what I have always loved about this city since growing up here, and it is what I continue to say is the very best of what our city offers. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas. Please be safe this New Year’s Eve as we close out 2025 and look towards the start of a Happy New Year.

My childhood was built on the traditions these two created, my grandparents. Now, as I serve on the city council, they still help keep this season meaningful. Every year, for the last council meeting, they bring homemade treats for everyone who attends. Having them there is a constant reminder of why we work so hard to make our city better not just for the generations who have lived here, but for the generations to come. I know the holidays can be busy, but I’m hopeful we all take a moment to pause, celebrate timeless traditions, and work together to build a future where these holiday moments big and small are possible for every family.

I’m grateful to spend Thanksgiving at home with family and friends, rather than on shift.

I’m grateful for my little family and the newfound love and joy they bring into my life.

I’m grateful for this city, this community—and for the opportunity to serve you all and work to make it better for generations to come.

To those who were able to spend Thanksgiving with their loved ones, I hope your bellies and hearts are full. And to those who had to be away from their families this year, thank you for all you do for our communities and our country.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
