Friends of the Tiner Hendrick House The Tiner-Hendrick House in Sutherland Springs, Texas, is a significant piece of the area's history, reflecting late 19th-century rural life and architecture.

The roofers discovered what must be Mr. Tiner’s hammer in the soffit of the house. It is held together with three square nails. The handle is only 8” long. It may not have been picked up for 140 years.

Pilot Roofing got busy today removing the old metal roof and the wooden shingles under them. These guys worked hard in the heat.

It looked as though we were going to be several thousand dollars short of funds to install the new roof on the Tiner Hendrick House, but yesterday commitments came in from generous folks who care about this local history, and now the roof is paid for and funds are available to support further restoration! Thanks to all who have stepped up to see this project move forward. Pilot Roofing arrives on the site tomorrow.
