For those wondering about the Swartz Creek VFW/Amvets Post Fish dinners here you go. Fish Menu all Dinners are $10.00 for right now.
The Swartz Creek VFW/Amvets Post Will be having Fish Dinners Beginning January 22, 2021.
For To- Go orders only.
This could change if we are able to open the Post and resume operations.
Dinners will be available from 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm.
You will need to call in and place your Order and time you will be there to pick up. You will be asked for a name and type of vehicle you are driving.
It will be CASH ONLY. 635-9792 please do not leave message.

Obituary
GOBLE, James Randall - Age 80, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday December 31, 2020. Funeral services will be held 5 PM Friday, January 8, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek(Live Streaming of the service can be viewed on James obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the Swartz Creek V.F.W.

James was born December 23, 1940 in Ranger, GA, the son of Patrick Henry and Robbie Lee (Moss) Goble. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He married Patricia E. Pass April 27, 1963 in Calhoun, GA. He retired from Fisher Body I after 30 years of service. James was a member of the U.A.W. and the Swartz Creek V.F.W. He enjoyed traveling, driving, horse racing, casino's, scratch off lottery tickets, but most of all he enjoyed being with his friends and family.

Surviving are: his wife of 57 years, Patricia; children, Tracy (John) Henige of Alpine, CA, Tony Goble of Clarksville, TN, and Trisha (Brad) Isham of Davison; 8 grandchildren, Alex, Aryn, Gray, Jordan (Cory), Sacha (Christian), Gunnar, Garrett, and Ella; brother, William "Pat" (Linda) Goble of Brighton; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Brenda Goble; and brother, Larry Goble. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.

Here is the Obit for Roger Sting.
STING, Roger Lewis - Age 78, of Swartz Creek passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020. Funeral services will take place 1 PM, Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will take place from 11 AM until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek V.F.W.

Roger was born on September 17, 1942 in Saginaw the son of Edgar Sting and Dorthea Menthem. He graduated from Flint Central High School. Roger proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1965. He and Roberta Bigelow were married on January 19, 1968. worked for GM as a Die Maker before his retirement. In his free time he enjoyed his motorcycle, woodworking and gardening.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Dan) Andrews; 2 grandsons, Zachary and Jacob Andrews; and several siblings, nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta; parents, Edgar Sting and Dorthea Neill.

Just saw a post by Eric Johnson (Commander VFW Post 3720), Roger Sting long time member, Passed Away. Roger was Past Quartermaster, Honor Guard, kept the Guard Rifles in tip top shape. Roger will be missed. R.I.H. Roger. Thoughts and Prayers to the Family.
