We had the opportunity to do a walk-through of the High School Ag room, and WOW… Mr. Josh Davis is doing some truly incredible things for our students! 💙

This all started back in the fall when Mr. Davis applied for a Bright Minds Grant to replace an outdated CNC machine that was no longer reliable. He recognized a gap—our students weren’t getting the same hands-on, real-world experience as other districts when it came to learning this skill—and he was determined to change that!

Mr. Davis spent countless hours researching and finding the right CNC machine—one that would not only fit within budget but truly elevate learning in his classroom. Thanks to the support of the Sweeny ISD Education Foundation and the partnership with Phillips 66, that vision became a reality. Together, we were able to fully fund this game-changing piece of equipment!

Now, the machine is installed, up and running, and already making an impact. Mr. Davis has gone above and beyond—completing multiple trainings to ensure he can give students the absolute best experience possible.

This is what it’s all about—passion, innovation, and doing whatever it takes to give our students opportunities that prepare them for their future. 💙🐾

There are some events that just stick with you… and the Top 10% Luncheon is hands down one of those events. 💙

Getting to watch our students stand up and honor the educators who have shaped their journey is something I truly can’t put into words. The letters they write… the stories they share… the gratitude they express… it is raw, real, and so incredibly powerful.

These kiddos take the time to reflect on the teachers who poured into them, believed in them, and helped guide them to where they are today—and let me tell you, there is not a dry eye in the room. The emotion and impact felt during this event is something you have to experience to fully understand. It is unforgettable.

I am beyond blessed to be part of an organization that values our students and our educators at such a deep level. Because of the generosity of our Education Foundation Board, this entire event is made possible—ensuring our staff feel seen, appreciated, and celebrated for the life-changing work they do every single day.

To our incredible SISD educators—thank you for being the difference. And to our students—thank you for reminding us why it all matters.

My heart is so full. 💙

We had such an exciting visit to one of our Bright Minds Grant recipients, Ms. Doak, at the elementary STREAM Lab!

Thanks to grant funding, Ms. Doak was able to bring 3D printers into her classroom—and WOW, what an impact they are making! Students were fully engaged and having a blast as they worked on a creative project designing their very own food trucks.

Ms. Doak shared that these 3D printers go far beyond just “fun.” They support core subjects like math, science, reading, and writing, while also tapping into students’ creativity and problem-solving skills. From brainstorming and researching ideas to writing out their plans and collaborating with peers, students are involved in every step of the process before ever hitting “print.”

Even more impressive—students understand the expectations and take pride in their work, showing responsibility, teamwork, and focus throughout the entire process.

Experiences like this are helping spark interest in future careers such as engineering and drafting—right here in our own community!

We were so inspired by Ms. Doak and her students and all the amazing things happening in that classroom. Thank you for creating such meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities for our students!

We are still smiling from our Spring Bright Minds Grant Cycle Express on Friday, February 20th!

We were beyond excited to hand out 5 grant checks totaling $26,900 to some incredible staff members at Sweeny ISD! These educators have truly gone above and beyond to create innovative, engaging learning experiences for our students — and it is an honor to help bring their ideas to life.

There is nothing better than surprising teachers with funding that will directly impact classrooms across our district. Their creativity, passion, and commitment to students is exactly why the Bright Minds Grant program exists!

We are so thankful for:

A huge THANK YOU to the Brazoria County Retired Teachers Association for their generous $1,000 donation to the Sweeny ISD Education Foundation! We are incredibly grateful for your support and investment in our students and staff.

I had the pleasure of visiting with several of your members and truly enjoyed learning more about your organization. It was such a meaningful conversation — sharing your passion for education and getting to talk about how our foundation works to give back to Sweeny ISD staff through grants that help bring innovative ideas to life in our schools.

It is donors like the Brazoria County Retired Teachers Association who make a true impact and difference within Sweeny ISD students and staff. 📸✨ Lights, Camera, Action, Sweeny High! ✨📸

Thanks to our Bright Minds grant funds, our Yearbook and AV programs now have the cameras and equipment they need to create amazing projects and capture every unforgettable moment at Sweeny High School!

From documenting school events to producing creative videos, these tools are helping our students explore their passions, develop new skills, and showcase their talents.

We are so proud to invest in our students’ creativity—this is exactly how our grants help make a difference every day in Sweeny ISD!

We’re so grateful to the Sweeny ISD Education Foundation for supporting our Yearbook and AV programs with the purchase of new cameras!

Students are already putting them to use, gaining valuable experience and creating projects for our school publications. 📸

🎉 Over 11,000 free books in 4 years—and counting! 🎉

We are so excited to see the Dolly Parton Imagination Library continuing to make a difference for Sweeny ISD families! From ages 0–5, children can receive FREE books delivered straight to their homes—all parents have to do is register their child.

Even though our foundation helped fund this program back in 2021, the magic is still happening in 2025! Seeing these little readers explore, learn, and grow is exactly why we do what we do. 💙
