Spring is on the way, and I know everyone is tired of being cooped up in the house and is ready to get outside and enjoy the weather. PLEASE REMEMBER that we are NOT allowing any ATV'S ( mopeds, razers, side by sides, 4 wheelers, etc...) to run on Highway 127 as it is a State Highway and will be policed as one. If you own or operate one, please turn off on a city street as soon as possible to get to your designated area. Below is a message from the Superintendent of the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Keathley, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, would like to remind the public of some Missouri laws regarding the operation and ownership of ATVs (all terrain vehicles). Missouri law directs that no person shall operate an ATV upon the highways of Missouri unless the ATV is owned and operated by the government for official use, or operated for agricultural use between the hours of sunrise and sunset.

General information

The Sweet Springs Police Department is located in Sweet Springs Missouri and is led by its police chief Tammy Johnson. The City of Sweet Springs was established in 1838 as Brownsville. The name of the city was change twice before settling on Sweet Springs due to the mineral spring that runs through the southern portion of Town. In addition to local officers within the city's police department, you can expect to find members of the Saline County Sheriff's Office and Missouri Highway Patrol within our community. Our Agency is a firm believer in outer agency cooperation and has even worked with the Saline County E9-1-1 center to lower staffing cost to benefit the members of our community.

So apparently The Sweet Springs Police Department has employed a disrespectful officer who has no regard for human life. Taunting and making fun of a beloved sport athlete and the loss of life that American is mourning.
