Good Afternoon Busy Bee Learning Center Families!
While this letter brings big change and an updated contract, it also comes with a new look to how I have wanted to do things since I began my journey as an early childhood educator in Northern Illinois. I will be specializing in Early Childhood Education, learning through play, and helping children master their curiosity prior to kindergarten.
Sometime between June 1, 2026 and June 26, 2026, BBLC will become a “home childcare” and not an “extended home childcare”. Miss Brey has found another employment opportunity and I have decided not to rehire. This means that my home childcare ratio changes, since I will become a sole-provider without an assistant. Therefore, I have decided to implement the following changes:
• As of June 1st, 2026, I will no longer be offering transportation to and from local schools, as I will be focusing on children between the ages of 2-5.
• As of August 1, 2026, I will only be accepting full-time children, so children who take up part-time positions will be required to contract as “full time” spots and pay for days not in attendance per BBLC Contract.
• Every second Monday of the month will be a tentative closure date. With becoming a sole-provider, I do have to find time to attend doctors appointments. I will do my best to schedule them all on the second Monday of every month. (I WILL need June 8, 2026 off).
• BBLC will now be utilizing ProCare instead of Brightwheel. As soon as it is up and running, I will forward the information to parents so we can continue to use it as a daily communication tool.
• BBLC will continue to close at 4:30pm. We have Cheer Practices and lessons in Bartlett, Illinois beginning at 5:30pm. It is imperative that we leave by 4:45pm.
• I added 5 free days to each family’s vacation/sick days for a new total of 15 free sick/vacation days. (If you have to pay for CCAP, this allows you to discount some of your CCAP Pay; $5 per sick day).
The small patch of “ground cover” to the right as you walk up our front porch steps has been registered with the Monarch Watch Waystation Registry. The tall green plants are known as “milk weed” are one of the only plants that Monarch Butterflies like. I have tended to these plants for the last few years and grown the patch from a few to at least a dozen. By fall, we’ll be able to watch some monarch butterfly caterpillars turn into crystalises and finally into beautiful butterflies!
