Council Meeting/Community Forum Update-The September 29, 2026, City Council meeting and Community Forum have been rescheduled to Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 6 p.m. and relocated to the STAR Center. This in-district meeting will be held in-person, with no virtual attendance option. A recording of the meeting will be available within 24 hours. Meeting agendas, minutes, and recordings can be found at https://cityoftacoma.legistar.com.

The City Council is now hosting in-district meetings to more directly respond to neighborhood concerns, while also reaching new voices and underserved communities across the city. Staff from various departments will also be available on-site to answer questions and help with service requests. Refreshments and childcare will be available at no cost to attendees.

The following topics will be covered:

🔹Federal and state certification
🔹Tips on how to successfully complete an application
🔹How to connect with staff at the City and OMWBE
🔹What documentation is required and accepted by the OMWBE, and what to bring for the follow-up OMWBE Certification 201 workshop scheduled for September 24 from 9-11 a.m.

Please plan to use detours via SR 167, Pacific Highway, or Portland Avenue. Be aware that weather conditions may push the work to August 29-30, so use alternate routes if possible.
