Tampa Books to Prisoners We send books to Florida state prisoners free of charge. We believe in access to education, and we believe in the humanization of those incarcerated.

Tampa Books to Prisoners Project sends free books to prisoners incarcerated within the state of florida upon request (with time, effort, and volunteers, one day hopefully the whole of the southeast or nationally). We aim to give those behind bars some semblance of solace, if only within the lines of written pages. This project aims to be one facet, or appendage, to the entirety of work which contr

ibutes to eventual prison abolition and real justice and rehabilitation for those in need. We believe that someone’s entire reputation and existence in society should
not be tainted or defined by the stamp of incarceration, especially when much incarceration is due to the intentionally architectured oppressive, racist, and prejudiced society which disparately divvies up economic
resources. We aim to keep the stories of those locked away on our lips, and to educate ourselves and others to the prison injustices in the United
States, which houses more prisoners than any other nation. We aim to not forget those easily invisibilized and erased. Tampa Books to Prisoners is always looking for new resources to receive books (preferably paperback), volunteers, interest, donations for media mail and packaging. We are a one hundred percent volunteer, secular, and non-profit
organization. Tampa Books to Prisoners was birthed in late 2015.

hey people, DO THIS, there are prisoners rebelling in (holman) alabama against s**t conditions and oppression. it takes two minutes to write officials or call them. below I am going to paste an email that i wrote to some of them as well as the e-mail addresses and phone numbers of some officials. please take a minute. contained in the email are the demands of the prisoners so if you call feel free to utilize those demands as speaking points.

To whom it may concern,

We out here wanted to let you know that there is a support network for folks who have been facing intense oppression inside the prison walls. We support their list of demands:

"We inmates, at Holman Prison, ask for immediate federal assistance.

We ask that the Alabama government release all inmates who have spent excessive time in Holman Prison — due to the conditions of the prison and the overcrowding of these prisons in Alabama.

We ask that the 446 laws [Habitual Felony Offender laws] that Alabama holds as of 1975 be abolished.

We ask that parole board release all inmates who fit the criteria to be back in society with their families.

We ask that these prisons in Alabama implement proper classes that will prepare inmates to be released back into society with 21st century information that will prepare inmates to open and own their own businesses instead of making them having to beg for a job.

We also ask for monetary damages for mental pain and physical abuse that inmates have already suffered."

We believe that more money needs to be put into rehabilitation programs and training. We believe an end to excessive sentences. We believe and end to the suffering of individuals and declare that dehumanization does nothing but further the mental distress of prisoners--thus further increasing the rate of recidivism and habitual offenses.
