Many people in the audience,including organizations, advocates, and survivor leaders from Houston, had the opportunity to go on stage and take photos with the Pentagon sign and stand behind the podium. However, we are especially proud of our own NTZ Director of Survivor Leader Initiatives, Courtney Litvak, who was the featured speaker.

Last week, No Trafficking Zone (NTZ) had the honor of participating in human trafficking roundtable discussions on Capitol Hill and at the White House. We are incredibly grateful for all of our partners, survivor leaders, law enforcement agencies, supporters, and organizations across the nation who stand united in the fight to prevent and combat human trafficking.

During these important discussions, NTZ Founder and President Jacquelyn Aluotto spoke about the growing intersection of human trafficking, drug trafficking, and financial crimes. She also addressed the alarming rise of s*xtortion, how traffickers use it to exploit children and vulnerable individuals, and why this evolving threat demands immediate action.

Human trafficking is constantly evolving, and our response must evolve with it. Parents, educators, businesses, schools, and communities need tangible tools, practical training, and strong partnerships to recognize the warning signs, protect those at risk, and help prevent this horrific crime from continuing to plague our nation.

Together, we can strengthen prevention efforts, empower our communities, support survivors, and ensure that traffickers have no place to operate.

Thank you, Spectrum News, for sitting down with No Trafficking Zone’s Director of Survivor Initiatives, Courtney Litvak and NTZ CEO Jacquelyn Aluotto | Human Trafficking Specialist, to discuss the critical issue of human trafficking.

We are grateful for our partnership with FIFA and for the opportunity to raise awareness. While major events shine a spotlight on this crime, it’s important to remember that human trafficking doesn’t only happen during large sporting events, it happens 365 days a year.

Judge Tim Nolan: Convicted of S*x Trafficking 19 Girls, Including 7 Children Under the Age of 16

Former judge Tim Nolan was convicted of exploiting 19 victims, including 7 children under the age of 16. He used money, drugs, manipulation, and threats to coerce vulnerable girls into commercial s*x acts.

He was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.

In addition to his prison sentence, Nolan was ordered to pay $110,000 through asset forfeiture and contributions to the Human Trafficking Victims Fund. Under federal sentencing rules, he became eligible for parole consideration after serving approximately 20% of his sentence (4 years).

As of 2026, Nolan remains incarcerated and is required to register as a s*x offender for life.

His case serves as a reminder that positions of power and public trust do not place anyone above the law.

No Trafficking Zone is honored to meet with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to discuss strengthening partnerships that protect survivors and communities of human trafficking.

Safe housing is one of the most critical components of prevention and recovery. When individuals and families have stability, they are far less vulnerable to exploitation.

Together, we can create stronger communities where exploitation has no place.

NTZ and our CEO Jacquelyn Aluotto were on the set of KHOU 11’s Great Day Houston with Deborah Duncan.

We had an in-depth discussion about the impact of the NTZ law, including three harsh sentences involving traffickers and predators since the law went into effect, the importance of a first-degree felony human trafficking penalty, and why accountability is critical.

Since SB 1212, we are seeing a shift from traffickers and predators receiving low sentences or what felt like a “slap on the wrist” to facing serious consequences, including sentences as high as 108 years in prison.

We also discussed the NTZ Game Over Initiative in sports stadiums and entertainment venues, our work with FIFA, and what parents, schools, and communities can do to better equip themselves to protect children.

Human trafficking, s*xtortion, and exploitation must be treated as high-risk crimes with consequences that deter criminal networks, traffickers, and predators.

NTZ is proud of the awareness billboards and our partnerships with HIDTA, National Child ID, and all of our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners and agencies working together to protect communities.

These billboards are about more than awareness, they are a message of prevention, accountability, and action. They help educate the public while making it clear that human trafficking is a serious crime with serious consequences, including a first-degree felony penalty under Texas law.

You can also see NTZ signage throughout the state and at NRG Park, where survivor-written messaging has been displayed for years. These powerful messages were created by the NTZ Survivor Council to ensure survivors’ voices remain at the center of the fight against trafficking.

Together, we are creating No Trafficking Zones and building safer communities.
