Another great day connecting with residents and celebrating what makes our community special. I was honored to join the veterans of Bobsvetsbrandonfl for breakfast again last week. As a member of a family with a strong legacy of military service, I am always grateful for the privilege to share a meal and conversation with our veterans and their families and to thank them for their service and sacrifice for their community and nation. Then I attended The Studio ribbon cutting hosted by the South Tampa Chamber. This was a very special event for me because of what The Studio and Ernesta Suarez Chicklowski and Anthony Chicklowski mean to me and my family. Both of my children have been blessed to have Mrs. Chick as their school music teacher, to participate in musicals put on by the Studio, and to attend summer camps at the Studio. And Anthony has been one of my greatest supporters. We are all so excited to celebrate 10 years of the Studio as a pillar of the South Tampa community and to see it continue to grow. Afterwards, I stopped by the Ligori & Ligori - Attorneys at Law - Keith Ligori Summer Happy Hour to catch up with friends and colleagues. Fun fact, between graduating from law school and taking the bar, I did contract work for Keith doing research and writing motions. To this day, I appreciate the opportunity he gave me to learn and gain valuable experience right out of school. Then I ended my night at the Tampa Community Band Sousa Summer Spectacular Concert. For nearly 40 years, this unfunded, local community band has provided an opportunity for musicians to come together and continue to play in an ensemble. They put on 10 to 12 free concerts every year. Today was a great reminded of what makes Hillsborough County such a special community...our veteran population (Hillsborough County is home to Florida's largest veteran population, with more than 98,000 men and women who have dedicated themselves to serving our country), our numerous family owned small businesses, and organizations supporting the arts ranging from a world class performing arts center to local neighborhood groups.
