The community of City Managers and City Administrators in Oregon is very tight, especially as we're all part of the Oregon City County Managers Association. Everyone is saddened by the tragic passing of St. Helens' City Administrator John Walsh.
John was always approachable to discuss navigating city management in Oregon. Always had time to chat, learn about what our city was doing, and shared tips from his experience in city management.
We are thinking of John's family, friends, and colleagues. May his memory be a blessing.
We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of St. Helens City Administrator John Walsh.
John was a respected colleague, dedicated public servant, and friend to many throughout Oregon’s local government community. He served communities in both Oregon and Washington during his career and had led the City of St. Helens as City Administrator since 2012. He also served as a member of the LOC Board of Directors from 2021-2023.
John was a longtime supporter of the city manager/administrator profession, serving on the OCCMA Board and helping mentor and support local government leaders across the region.
Our thoughts are with John’s family, friends, colleagues, and the entire St. Helens community during this difficult time.
