October is National Principals Month, and we want to take a moment to honor the leadership, dedication, and vision of BP’s principal, Pamela Casna!

Since arriving at BP in 2025, Mrs. Casna has thoughtfully guided our staff and students through an exciting era of growth, including opening our brand-new building.

As an accomplished educational leader, consultant, and author, Mrs. Casna brings a strategic, equity-driven, and student-centered approach to our school every day. She holds a Masters degree in Urban Education, and a Leadership Certificate from Harvard University. She is passionate about empowering every student to thrive, elevating community voices, and building an inclusive environment where both students and educators can grow and succeed.

Thank you, Mrs. Casna, for your inspiring leadership and dedication to the BP community!

The City Council will be meeting tomorrow night to discuss contracts in the committee of financing and salaries and the committee of the whole to discuss the sewer rate increase.

Tomorrow night in the full council the Tax classification hearing. (please see posted letter by the CFO). I guess the council works for the CFO based on the letter that was submitted into the agenda. The city council is an elected body that is suppose to be working for you not the CFO. Pay attention tax payers! It won’t be long before everyone is taxed right out of the city. So many large contracts being given and then they expect the taxpayers to pay for it. This is why our children cannot afford to live in this city. Stay tuned let’s not forget the last second Vote to take the charter off the ballot in 2023 . It won’t be long before they craft something to help the insiders. Stay tuned I’m sure that will be on the agenda before you know it . If this bothers you comment below!

The vote by the Taunton City Council to surplus the police station was the wrong move. We should preserve that space for future City Hall needs once it’s gone, the opportunity is lost. Our city must plan long-term for municipal space that serves all. That building and site represent valuable municipal capacity we may need in the future for City Hall functions and to better serve residents. Selling or disposing of it now short-circuits long‑term planning and limits options for consolidating city services, improving access for citizens, and saving taxpayer dollars over time. I urge the Mayor, Council, and Administration to reconsider and prioritize a comprehensive facilities plan before any further steps are taken.

Remembering 9/11. 🇺🇸

My heart is heavy after a tragic weekend. I extend my deepest condolences to the families and communities in Cape Verde after the devastating crash that killed at least 25 people, many of them teenagers.

I also mourn with the family of the person killed in this weekend’s shootings in Taunton and wish a full and speedy recovery to the seven others who were wounded. My thoughts are with all who are grieving. Let us hold space for the victims and their families as well as the neighborhood that was struck by needless violence and offer support at this difficult time.
