Due to a Cold Weather Advisory with very low wind chills, Taylor School District will be closed on Friday, January 23, 2026. 🥶

High school events will go as planned, but all other activities will be cancelled.

Thank you to Senator Darrin Camilleri and State Senator Erika Geiss for fighting for our school district!

Good news: We secured some big wins for Downriver and Western Wayne County in the state budget!

No budget is perfect, but this one cuts through the noise and delivers where it matters most for the people of Michigan.

We won major funding for important investments:

-$10M to rebuild West Road Bridge in Trenton
-$5M to expand the Downriver Career Tech consortium
-$1.5M for Rockwood Wastewater Improvements
-$1M for Flat Rock Fire Truck
-$1M for Romulus Fire Truck (shoutout Rep. Miller!)
-$5M for Allen Rd. Grade Separation
-$4M for Taylor Schools infrastructure

And so much more — including saving the free breakfast and lunch program and protecting health care in Michigan. As always, I’ll work across the aisle to bring home results for our community.
