Seniors connect with middle school students through one-on-one letter writing to create relationships and build lasting bonds. Tempe is grateful to the amazing volunteers who turned out for today’s Project Connect event to help more than 150 individuals and families experiencing homelessness access shelter, job help, health assessments, ID recovery, food boxes, showers and more. Roughly 100 volunteers helped guests navigate services and dozens more baked bread to give away, donated warm clothing and made cozy scarves. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making guests feel welcome and cared for at Project Connect! City of Tempe Government and University Presbyterian Church are hosting a one-day Project Connect event, bringing resources to one location to assist individuals and families who are homeless. Direct services are provided during the event, including shelter and food, obtaining vital records, connections to medical care and mental health services and more. Each service is directly connected to ending an individual’s homelessness.
