Friends of the Bedford Library

The FOBL needs your help! Even after a great response from community members, your Friends still need to reduce inventory in our Fiction for Adults area. (Note: there are no Large Print or Children's titles.)

Are you a member of a group or know of a group that could use a bag of books? For example, book clubs, hospitals/rehab units, veterans group, senior communities, church (great for bazaars), or do you have a free little library in your neighborhood?

If so, DM us and our FOBL bookstore clerks will put together a bag for you, label it with your name and put it on the library hold shelf for you. No donation needed! We just want these books to be used and not recycled.

Please allow a week before coming to the library to pick them up to allow us plenty of time to fill your request.

Pet Lovers - Mark your calendars for the Bedford Branch Library Pet Expo on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 1pm - 4pm in the north parking lot at the library (8575 Jackman Road, Temperance, MI).
Come to the Pet Expo to meet adoptable pets from the Humane Society of Monroe County, shop around with area vendors and pet-related businesses, and meet with other pet lovers. Grab a Kona Ice treat while you're here! We will also be doing a donation drive for the Humane Society, so be sure to bring a donation item with you if you are able. Bring your pup and enjoy some provided enrichment activities! Open Oaks Mobile Pet Grooming will also be here to do nail trims and other simple grooming options.

Trumbull Photography, LLC will be here doing professional photobooth photos of you and your dog for $20! Get an amazing keepsake to treasure forever!

We look forward to seeing you and your dog there!

Help save lives this Friday, August 21 at the Bedford Branch Library by donating blood to the American Red Cross. We only have 6 spots open still and really want to have a full drive! EDIT!**Thank you all so much for the overwhelming response to our request for help with inventory reduction. At this time we need to pause this process so we can get caught up and find out if we still have books to share.
Please know that our bookstore is open all 7 days per week that the library is open and our books sell for $2or LESS. We also have DVDs, CDs, and puzzles. All monies raised supports programming at your library.**

The FOBL needs your help! Even after a very successful Back Door Book Sale, we have had an unprecedented influx of new donations. We need to clear out old inventory!

We have many hardback fiction books for adults, some non-fiction, some early chapter books for children, and teen titles.

Are you a member of a group that could use a bag of books? For example, a book club, a veterans group, a senior community, a church, or do you have a free little library in your neighborhood? Or are you a teacher needing to supplement your classroom library?

Today - Sunday, July 12 at 2pm The Zekelman Holocaust Museum will be presenting Spreading Hate: Propaganda and the Holocaust in the Community Room at the Bedford Branch Library. Come inside where it's cool and develop a deeper understanding of the Holocaust.
