Yesterday, the City officially launched its new zone-based street sweeping route restructure!
Have you checked it out yet? 👀
With the new system, each of the City’s five street sweepers is assigned to a specific color zone, with one dedicated sweeper and operator continuously working through that zone.
We also gave the operators in each zone the opportunity to name their sweeper — and we think they picked some pretty great names!
🟢 Green Maintenance Zone — Sweeping Beauty
🟣 Purple Maintenance Zone — Sweep It Real
🟠 Orange Maintenance Zone — The Grim Sweeper
🔵 Blue Maintenance Zone — The Sweepinator
🟡 Yellow Maintenance Zone — Broom Bear
These dedicated zones are designed to help reduce lag between zones, keep routes moving consistently, make street sweeping more predictable, improve efficiency, and provide better curb-to-curb cleaning.
