Lithium Fire Guard’s PG100 is built and tested to the toughest battery fire containment benchmark in the world: the ANSI/UL 5800-2021 Standard for Battery Fire Containment Products, used jointly in the U.S. and Canada for inhabited aircraft compartments.​

How rigorous is ANSI/UL 5800?
- It uses a controlled “worst-case” lithium-ion battery failure, driving 18650 cells to full thermal runaway at 100% state of charge to prove true containment, not just “overheating” resistance.​

- Products are tested three separate times with new units each time; if any test fails key criteria, the entire program stops.​

- The test lab instruments temperature, smoke, and combustion products every second for up to six hours, monitoring surface temperatures, smoke release, and debris in a highly controlled fire test environment.​

What does a passing product have to do?
To meet performance levels under UL 5800, the containment system must:
- Prevent flame from breaching the product (even with cheesecloth and tissue wrapped around it to detect the smallest ignition).​

- Keep shrapnel, sparks, and harmful debris fully contained, while keeping exterior touch surfaces below strict temperature limits for handles, vents, and contact surfaces.​

For higher performance (Level 2), keep total visible smoke release under a tight maximum, on top of all the above requirements.​

In the world of luxury yachting, safety is not optional it’s essential. The Lithium Fire Box is an advanced life-saving solution designed specifically to address one of the most dangerous risks onboard: lithium battery fires.
Unlike land-based environments, yachts often lack immediate external support during emergencies. That’s why the Lithium Fire Box offers autonomous protection, engineered to detect abnormal temperatures and automatically isolate electrical hazards before a fire can escalate.

How It Works:
