Bowie County Community Supervision and Corrections Department Bowie County CSCD supervises and helps rehabilitate offenders who are sentenced to community supervision by local courts.

*If you are in a treatment progrom with Bowie County CSCD or have family, please read the following information. CONFIDENTIALITY AND OTHER RIGHTS: Your treatment in this program is confidential. Federal Code, State Licensure requirements and the Counselor’s Code of Ethics protect your rights to confidentiality in treatment. Your confidentiality rights are as follows: Information about your treatment in this program, including confirmation that you have applied for services or your admission status cannot be disclosed without your written consent. However, if you commit a crime on the premises of this program or against program staff, this can be reported without your consent. The program and its staff are required by State Law to report suspected or known child or elderly abuse or neglect, and any immediate or potential harm to self or others. Program staff may release your confidential information when served with proper legal authorization. Auditors responsible for monitoring the program and persons performing treatment research may assess your records; however, such persons are required not to disclose any confidential information. You have the right to revoke your written consent, except when the consent is to release information in response to the Criminal Justice System Entity that mandated your treatment. Unless revoked, your written consent will remain in effect until such time as specified on the consent form. Information may be released in response to a medical emergency in which you are involved. Information may also be released via a Memorandum of Understanding. You also have the following rights: *You have the right to be treated with dignity, courtesy, and professionalism. *You have the right to seek and receive treatment without regard to your gender, race, heritage, age, religion, handicap or disability, socioeconomic status, or sexual orientation. All Federal and State equality codes will be enforced. *You have the right to file a grievance should you believe your rights have been violated. Any violation of the Federal Law and regulations by the Community Supervision and Corrections Department is a crime. Suspected violations may be reported to appropriate authorities in accordance with Federal Regulations. Federal Law and regulations do not protect any information about a crime committed on the program premises by an individual receiving treatment either at or against any staff personnel of the Bowie County Juvenile Department of Corrections or any threat to commit such a crime. GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE: Should you have a complaint or grievance concerning your treatment, you should bring the complaint to the attention of your counselor. You and your counselor must attempt to resolve the issues. If you believe your grievance has not been resolved at the counseling level, or your counselor is the source of the problem, you should submit your grievance in writing to the Programs Treatment Coordinator at 100 N. Stateline Box 12, Texarkana, Texas 75501. The Treatment Coordinator has ten (10) working days to review and respond to your grievance.

Mission: The mission of the Bowie County Community Supervision and Corrections Department is: · to protect the community by utilizing community based resources and enforcing the orders of the Court related to the adult offender · to participate in programs and activities designed to reduce the impact of crime in Bowie County · to address the rights of victims by providing information, referrals and services; and · to inform and educate the public concerning the philosophy and role of community supervision.

Job Description

Position: Community Service Restitution/Maintenance Supervisor
Exempt Status: non-exempt
Supervisor: Director

Job Summary: This position provides for the necessary coordination/supervision and transportation of community service workers assigned to projects through the education center. Also, ensures operation and availability of equipment required for the community service projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the supervision of community service workers.
2. Responsible for transporting community service workers to community service project sites.
3. Responsible for maintaining all community service equipment.
4. Maintain necessary documentation on attendance and hours worked of community service workers.
5. Responsible for writing and furnishing necessary community service reports as required.
6. Coordinate daily with the Department Community Service Coordinator.
7. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director and/or Director.

Qualifications:

Should possess a valid driver license with a good driving record. Must have demonstrated experience and ability to maintain and operate various types of lawn and garden equipment. Must also be able to maintain the van used in transporting community service workers. Must possess at least a high school diploma with the ability to operate a personal computer and the associated software. Must have good oral and written skills. Must be able to communicate well with persons on community supervision, officers, supervisors, client agencies and officials of other agencies.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparation and serving of SATF (BCWC) residents' meals as scheduled by the Food Service Supervisor. Meals shall be prepared timely and within recommended daily dietary allowances. Shall comply with all state and local food service/sanitation regulations. Responsible for cleanliness including deep cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment, utensils and appliances during shift. Shall employ common sense and courtesy in order to develop and maintain professional, positive working relations with the Women’s Center residents and staff.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Works a minimum of 40 hours a week to accomplish job related tasks. Flexible hours and shift work required. Schedule may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift and move about the facility periods of time and freely and unassisted. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds on occasions and push carts weighing 600+ pounds. Must be CPR/First Aid certified and respond in emergency situations (physical and natural) as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Duties and responsibilities as outlined in job summary
• Prioritize all work assignments and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Responsible for enforcing the BCWC kitchen policies and procedures.
• Assures BCWC residents conduct themselves in an orderly manner while performing kitchen/dining room duty.
• Assist BCWC Monitors in reference to the number of community service/extra hours BCWC resident work in the kitchen and dining hall.
• Report to the Food Service Supervisor any and all personnel problems.
• Use universal precautions when dealing with residents as precaution against contracting infectious diseases including but not limited to HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis and sexually transmitted diseases.
• May be required to transport residents.
• Other assigned duties as requested by Food Service Supervisor or Director of Bowie County Women’s Center. Plans and types daily prep sheet for the day’s production.
• Oversees daily production, sanitation, knife checkout and clean-up procedures.
• Sets up and assembles the tray line.
• Prepares and over sees the preparation of a full range of meals, portioning of meals including special diets on any assigned shift.
• Stores leftover food appropriately, inventories and maintains stock of food and supplies; receives food and supplies, unpacks and stores food in the appropriate location.
• Instructs residents in the techniques of food preparation, cooking and portioning, safe work procedures, and the use and minor maintenance of institutional cooking equipment.
• Attendance and punctual as scheduled
• Checks in food orders/deliveries and maintains an accurate stock control.
• Checks daily prep sheet for the day’s production and retrieves the items needed for designated meals
• Maintain and check First Aid equipment within the kitchen.
• Maintain security of the kitchen area and equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Qualifications:
Safe work practices and sanitation related to food preparation and service.
Basic inventory and record keeping principles.
First Aid Certified
Possession of a SERV Safe Food Handler Certificate within three (3) month of hire.

Ability to:
Oversee and prioritize the work of others
Follow oral and written instructions
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.

Job Description: This position utilizes independent judgment and initiative to provide bookkeeping and accounting support for the Department. This position is also responsible for employee benefit/insurance records/coordination.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for financial and administrative record keeping including related correspondence.
2. Maintains accurate records of all financial transactions.
3. Provides accounting responsibility for community supervision fees collected in accordance with policy and CJAD Standards.
4. Responsible for training other support staff as assigned.
5. Acts as liaison with county auditor and payroll offices.
6. Responsible for maintenance and ordering of office supplies and equipment.
7. Prepares requisitions and verify deliveries against purchase orders.
8. Maintains/updates inventory records.
9. Maintains/updates employee benefits/insurance records.
10. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma. Three years data entry and accounting experience required. Must be able to operate various office machines. Must be able to operate a personal computer with the associated software. Must be bondable. Will be able to organize and maintain records relating to the bookkeeping functions of the Department. Must have excellent verbal and written skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with clients, the public, coworkers, court personnel and personnel of other agencies and Departments.
