Siza Mzimela, a South African entrepreneur, is the first black woman to start an airline, called Fly Blue Crane that she launched in September. It has two 50-seat aircrafts and also provides underserved South African communities with affordable flights.

"It's taken us a good 18 months to get to our first flight, which was on the first of September, but indeed, a lot of people just assume it happened overnight," Mzimela said. "I've always been passionate in using the airline to open the routes and actually grow the economies of the smaller towns."

This South African entrepreneur is revolutionizing the travel industry.

On Thursday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi signed a nuclear power plant deal with Russia, days after Russia vowed to avenge the terrorist bombing of a Russia airliner that blew up over the Sinai, killing all 224 passengers and crew on board.

The head of Russia's state-owned nuclear firm Rosatom called the deal "the largest Russian-Egyptian project since the Aswan dam."

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi signed a nuclear power plant deal with Russia Thursday, just days after the Kremlin's unilateral announcement that the Russian charter flight which blew up over Sinai late October was downed by an act of terrorism.

UNICEF said that some 11 million children are at risk of disease, water shortages and hunger due to the El Nino phenomenon, but the Ethiopian government is rejecting claims that the drought will bring the nation back to the famine levels of 1984, according to the BBC.

Some 11 million children are at risk from hunger and disease in east and southern Africa as El Nino causes drought and flooding, the UN says.
