It's official! Houston City Council has approved a street name change in front of the new Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Houston building to "Mentor Way!" Click below to watch the video of our CEO, Pierce Bush at the meeting and the positive feedback from several City Council Members.

“Particularly now I want to encourage people, for who are interested in terms of how can they be helpful post-Harvey and the stress that people are feeling and the impact it has on individuals and their households and their children, I think now is as good a time as any, if not even better, to sign up with Big Brothers Big Sisters because of the impact you can have on a kid or a teen whose life has been destabilized post-Harvey.”
- Amanda Edwards Houston City Council Member

Special thank you to Council Member Jack Christie and his team, Paul Lock with CenterPoint Energy, Karla Cisneros, Sylvester Turner, Mayor of Houston, and the City of Houston.

"When you decide to be a mentor, you start thinking of all of the advice that you can tell/show your "little," but you end up learning so much about yourself. For me, it was learning how to drive a conversation which helped me in my professional career. Mentor 2.0 has been a great platform - it stretches you as a mentor especially with your communication skills. You communicate via email and then work on translating that into the relationship in person. I've learned so much and I can see the impact BBBS is having in my mentee's life." -April W., Mentor 2.0
