This shows how easy it is to communicate your concerns and questions to our representatives. She has declined multiple of these invitations, and we need representatives who will meet us face to face to answer our questions and tell us why she thinks we should vote for her. We need to hear from Darlene Taylor.

Darlene Taylor and Adam Chitwood are both running for Georgia State House Representatives in District 173 and have both been invited to a public candidate forum. Adam has publicly accepted his invitation, whereas Darlene has not accepted.

Darlene has a history of declining these invitations which leaves voters with no answers and shows a lack of concern for building a connection with the people.
Not only are these events direct communication to ensure candidates hear critical feedback from the community, it also allows the candidates to explain their votes, policy decisions, and future plans for our community. Showing up helps build the gap between constituents and government, building community and confidence.

Forums give everyday voters, not just major donors, a chance to ask questions. Help us remind Darlene Taylor that face-to-face interaction allows candidates to connect with the public outside of scripted campaigns. We decide who represents us, our voice is our votes. Don’t forget to call her office at 229-225-9943 to express your concern if she does not accept.

The blessing box next to the big oak sometimes gets over looked, this is your sign to donate to the box if you’re able, and spread awareness to those in need!

It might not provide everything a person needs, but with your help of donating pantry items and essentials such as feminine and hygiene products, it could very well impact the quality of someone’s day! 🫶

Other places to donate to those in need are the Red Roof Inn, and Thomasville Street Feed! Together we can take care of one another. 💞

If you don’t do politics then politics will do you…

Younger generations currently have the lowest voter turnout. If we want to create an inclusive system that represents the diverse needs of its people, then we must empower young voters!

This means our representatives need to listen to young voters feedback now more than ever.
This means that young people need to show up to the polls, now more than ever!

Research the candidates in your state and district, and vote in this midterm election! Our futures quite literally depend on it :’)

Today marks one year of Rose City Humanity being a part of the Thomasville community! 🥹

This organization began as a small way to give back to our city, but little by little has created a wave of change and has brought people of all backgrounds together. From Thomasville’s first five No Kings protests, to our first Interfaith Prayer Gathering in remembrance of ICE victims, to our stretch of resistance against homophobia, to our very first Pride Rally and drag queen appearance!

We began this to give back and create change while encouraging others to do the same, but in return have received more love, friendships, and growth than we could ever have envisioned.

Looking back on these photos shows how far Thomasville has come just in the past year, and we can’t wait to see what else the future brings. None of the progress in Thomasville could happen without the people, so give yourself a pat on the back and a glass of wine because you deserve it! 🍾

It isn’t over yet though, so keep showing up, voting, and supporting one another through these uncertain times. We have so many more ideas we hope to bring to life, so stay tuned!

Happy Independence Day!
The 4th of July marks one year since Thomasville’s very first No Kings protest, today we remember what we began this fight for!

For those who don’t feel comfortable celebrating freedom when not all in our country currently have that privilege, we see you. We aren’t free until we are all free!

And for those choosing to celebrate despite the burn out and exhaustion from witnessing what our country has become, we see you too! Joy is an act of resistance!

Our love for our country and it’s diversity is why we choose to hold it accountable and fight for it. Therefore, however you choose to participate in today, you make an impact! 🇺🇸🎇🍾🌭

Thank you to all the beautiful people that attended Thomasville, Georgia’s FIRST EVER OFFICIAL PRIDE RALLY!! 🥳🏳️‍🌈

Historic moments like this would not exist without the community showing up and showing out! In this case, YA’LL DID! 🤩

We are so proud to see such a beautiful community sharing their freedom and boundless love unapologetically in our City! 💖

We also give a special thanks to Thomas County Democratic Party for cohosting this wonderful & successful event! Along with the support and contributions of Adam Chitwood District 173 Campaign Updates! 💙

To all of the citizens of Thomasville, this community exists and is not going anywhere! 🏳️‍🌈
Love surpasses all barriers, so let’s allow it to break the prejudice barriers that divide our community into discriminated groups and inequity. 🫶

In order to create change you have to create community first!

We live in a generation where asking a friend to attend anything in the community is a hassle. A generation where we only spend time with others if they invite us because initiating plans is inconvenient. A generation where an act of selflessness goes against our individualistic mindset and belief system. We are less willing to take on the emotional labor that comes with friendship and community.

The truth? Community costs! Building a village requires being a villager. Attending a friend, family, or local event requires effort. Organizing an event requires even more effort, and hours of unpaid labor. Whether it’s money, time, or emotion, community costs. Are you willing to pay the price?
