I hate making posts like this, and usually when I go in pet stores and I see a dehydrated ball python or a beardie with a little early mbd I just bite my tongue but this one was too much. Uromastyx that by all accounts does not look alive. There was another one in there that was definitely underweight but at least was alert, huffed up at me, wiggled its tail as a threat.. this one though… This lizard did not get like this overnight, and the fact that it’s THIS bad and still on the floor where they’re asking $180(!!) for it is pathetic.

This is the Everything Pets in Schenectady. It should be pulled immediately and taken to a vet for treatment but instead it’s going to die or someone is going to “rescue it” by buying it which will just incentivize them to buy another. Like I said, I see reptiles of varying levels of health in pet stores but practically never THIS BAD, pi**es me off.

Update: I’ve been informed by the staff’s own comment that the lizard arrived in sick on 8/5 and they pulled it just now after seeing this post. Interesting, they can reply to this post within a few minutes but their lizard for sale can slowly die in a tank for over a week with no one doing a thing despite them knowing it was sick 🤔
