West Wins Coroner Primary
SENECA COUNTY – According to unofficial results by the Seneca County Board of Elections, Dr. Zachary West has won the Republican primary election for Seneca County Coroner.
West is the owner and founder of the Ohio Institute of Osteopathic Medicine in Tiffin. He serves as a physician at the practice.
He currently serves as the vice president of the Seneca County Board of Health. West graduated from Old Fort Local Schools and went on to earn his associate degree in science from Terra State Community College. He then earned his bachelor’s degree in science at Youngstown State University.
West earned his master’s degree in public health from the Northwest Ohio Consortium for Public Health and earned a doctorate in osteopathic medicine from (Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.
“I bring to the position integrity, attention to detail and professionalism along with a steadfast commitment to always do what is right,” he told the A-T when asked why he would be the best candidate for the position. “I have demonstrated my ability to build relationships and to take on tasks and deliver results.”
He received 3,243 votes, while incumbent Dr. Mark Akers received 3,071. West will be uncontested in the November election.
Akers served as Seneca County Coroner for 19 years.
Seneca County Coroner
