A Musician’s Thoughts on Simone Biles’ Withdrawal from Olympic Competition

I think many of you will agree with Heather's "thoughts". As we perform before an audience, I am sure must of us have those "I hope I don't mess it up" feelings!

No one would call me a sports fan. I don’t follow teams. I don’t care which final competitions are happening. I’ve hosted anti-Super Bowl parties where we play board games instead…

We hope all our FB friends are staying safe.

This evening, about 40 of us, who are part of the Greater Tiverton Community Chorus, were to sing Magnificat by Kim Andre Arnesen at Carnegie Hall in NYC. Of course, we are very disappointed that it will not happen. But there is a possibility it might happen next April.
As you know, we have cancelled our May concerts which was to feature this beautiful piece. We plan on singing it at a future concert.

We hope you are including music in your day as you stay safe at home or if you have to work, during this pandemic.🎵

I think most of us can agree on this!!

Have you used https://EasyVirtualChoir.com? Super EASY and FREE! The software aligns audio/video tracks automatically and will save you lots of editing time. Many users say EasyVirtualChoir recreates a live choir experience for singers. It allows each singer to follow the conducting/reference video and peer sound tracks to sing along with. Choir director can evaluate/adjust individual recordings before exporting the final production video. The software has also been widely used for virtual rehearsals by which the choir director can quickly evaluate each singer and provide timely feedback. No need to send files around, everything is done within the app. After everyone finishes singing, the choir video can be created in just a few minutes. The entire process is so intuitive, simple and fast for both choir director and singers, that most k-12 school music teachers have got a video created after just one class period. Hope this free service will be helpful to your ensemble too!
I hope my friends in GTCC have discovered Voices of Fire on Netflix to take up some of your time during COVID. AMAZING show about building a choir. Hope you are all healthy and well. All my best.
I hope you don't mind me posting on here: I am a local singing teacher and I have been running some fun and friendly online workshops for singers of all shapes and sizes to learn more about how their voice works, how to make a stronger sound and how to take care of your voice so it gives you many years of safe singing pleasure! Anyone would be very welcome to join me at one or all of the workshops. Please do DM me if you have any questions. https://www.facebook.com/events/283133366239150
