Selections include music from My Fair Lafy, Camelot, Gypsy, Les Misersble, and more. See you at 6:30 at the Ocesn County Library in Toms River… rained or shine!

Thursday night.. July 31st.. at the Ocean County Library Toms River, we, as the new Summer Winds Concert Band ( can’t use Toms River in the name of the Mayor won’t support us) will present a unique concert featuring two soloists, two guest conductors and an World Premier of brand new selection by band member Robert Dalton. Come to the Library for this wonderful concert at 6:30 on Thursday! We WILL go inside if the heat doesn’t break or it rains.

Tonight, July 10th… indoors if it rains.. the Summer Winds Concert Band presents a Pops concert featuring selections by Hoagy Carmichael, Big Band Signatures, Beguinr for Band and guest soloists Ron Owens on typewriter… yes typewriter and accordion and Brendan Hughes on Bass Clarinet . Rain or shine at 6:30 at the Library in Toms River… don’t stay home if it rains.. come and sit indide and hear a great concert!

To all fans and members of the Toms River Municipal Band.. our 2025 season is in serious danger of being limited to 2 concerts. I have been informed by the Recreation Department that the Mayor of Toms River will not renew our $10,000 finding .. which pays for 5 of our concerts and our guest artists, unless the band performs 2?gratis daytime concerts for the Toms River Senior Center. First of all, asking these professional musicians for two free services is out of line considering the make very little money as I is to travel to the area for concerts and unpaid rehearsal; second - about 59% of the members work day jobs so he asking them to give up two days pay to play for nothing; third - these concerts are not for special events or charity.. they seem to be only to make the mayor look good in the seniors’ eyes.
The band has been providing free concert for the community for 61 years being co-funded by the County and the Town. Now Mayor seemingly wishes to ens that Co-operative cultural program. Let”/ hope the Township Council the the County Commissioners can change his mind.
