FROM Salt River Project
As a reminder, the Canyon Lake Drawdown Project will begin on September 16, 2026, with Canyon Lake's water level being lowered for approximately 16 weeks to support critical dam safety inspections and maintenance.

The Tonto National Forest recently announced that Canyon Lake will close on September 8, 2026, including all boat ramps and public access points, to prepare for the drawdown.

Additional project information and closure details are available on the project website.

The water level at Canyon Lake will be lowered for approximately 16 weeks starting mid-September of 2026 for critical dam safety inspections and maintenance.

Today, we’re remembering Dolly Parton with full hearts — and incredible amounts of gratitude. ❤️

Dolly believed something beautifully simple: you can never get enough books into the hands of enough children. She turned that belief into a movement, putting millions of stories into little hands and helping families make reading part of growing up. That's impacted thousands of lives in Douglas County.

Right here, in the places young people can read with friends or family, her legacy lives on every time an Imagination Library book arrives in the mail. In bedtime stories. In favorite books read until the pages soften. In young readers discovering that books, and the big, big world inside them — belong to them, too.

Dolly gave us the idea, and took the steps to get more books in the hands of kids. Now we get to carry it forward.

From all of us at Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Douglas County, thank you, Dolly. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You've changed millions of lives and inspired readers for a lifetime.
