For some of us, a haircut is just a haircut - but for our unsheltered neighbors, it's so much more.

There's something that happens when someone sits down and lets someone else take care of them, someone who takes their time, treats them gently, then holds up a mirror and shows them a version of themselves they may have forgotten existed.

These before and after photos show what it feels like to be looked after with care. To have someone say "You are valued."

We are so grateful to the talented volunteers who showed up again with their shears and their big hearts to help us care for our neighbors. And we're grateful to everyone who sat in that chair and let themselves be cared for! You are seen, loved, and valued! ❤

🎉 Happy five years to MAP! Five years ago, we started with a simple belief: every person deserves dignity, care, and to be seen and valued.

Since then, we've had the honor of walking alongside our unsheltered neighbors in Topeka - offering support, resources, and a compassionate presence, day in and day out.

None of this happens without our incredible volunteers, donors, partners, and - most importantly - our resilient neighbors who trust us with their stories. They even helped serve the cake! Here's to five years of showing up, and many more to come! ❤

The future of our community is in great hands!

We were recently honored to be invited to an 8th grade showcase at French Middle School, where students presented their ideas for addressing homelessness in our community.

These young innovators came prepared with thoughtful, creative solutions - new services, support programs, and fresh approaches to a challenge that affects so many lives. Sitting in that room, listening to their passion and dedication, reminded us of why this work matters so much.

We shared one message with them: Keep it up! The energy, empathy, and drive they showed is exactly what creates real change. We are so grateful to have been included and proud to stand alongside these future community leaders! ❤
