It's important to know how to stay safe as New Jersey recovers from Tropical Storm Ida. We outline some post-storm resources below. ⬇️

Here's what you need to know about generators and carbon monoxide poisoning: bit.ly/3kUuAL2
Remember: NEVER run a generator indoors, even if the doors or windows are open, and NEVER run a generator outside an open window, door or vent where exhaust can enter your home.

Here's what you need to know about cleaning and mold removal: bit.ly/3zO2xD9
Remember: NEVER mix bleach with ammonia or other cleaners.

Here's what you need to know during a flood: bit.ly/3jGccGk
Remember: "Turn Around, Don’t Drown!" NEVER drive through flooded areas. As little as six inches of water can cause you to lose control of your vehicle.

Here's what you need to know after a flood: bit.ly/2WXJHLw
Remember: NEVER turn power on or off yourself or use an electric tool or appliance while standing in water.

Here's what you need to know about post-flood food safety: bit.ly/3kUyof3
Remember: NEVER eat any food that may have come into contact with flood water. "When in doubt, throw it out!"

Here's what you need to know about post-storm tree hazards: bit.ly/3h0GSAu
Remember: Serious injuries can occur during tree work, especially while working with/near power lines, chainsaws, wood chippers, dead or diseased trees, and storm-downed or damaged trees.

Data from a new CDC MMWR show that the hospitalization rate among unvaccinated adolescents (12-17 year-olds) was 10 times higher than among fully vaccinated adolescents. The report also found that hospitalization rates among children ages 0-4 increased 10x from late June to mid-August. CDC recommends adolescents get vaccinated as soon as they can and everyone ages 2 and older wear a mask in public indoor spaces (in areas of substantial or high transmission), schools, and childcare centers.
