Operating as usual

The second quarter of reporting has been completed and once again, the City Of Trenton had all of our ducks in a row well ahead of the deadline! For those out there also dealing with ARRA reporting, we're certainly aware that all of the changing requirements can be a bit difficult to tackle, but we remain excited about the impact that the recovery act is having here in Trenton.

We are still going strong here, the contracts to begin work for the EECBG should be in place shortly! I also wanted to let everyone know that we've done an update to the main chart over at our website, so feel free to check it out in the recovery act updates section.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we did submit all four of our ARRA reports before the deadlien, we're currently awaiting comments from the federal agencies. With any luck, all of the reports should be final and viewable by the public at the end of the month.

The first quarterly reports are due this week. It's been a bit of a ride getting used to the system to submit (which is brand new) but we are on track!

I can't believe I haven't mentioned that our friends over at CCRC have submitted an application for the Department of Transportation's TIGER Grant. If received, the $63M will go towards the Route 29 project, including the construction of a parking garage to replace the surface parking. I just wanted to thank CCRC for all of their hard work and we are certainly excited about getting the Route 29 Boulevard completed!

We have received the proposals for technical assistance and oversight for the EECBG and are in the process of reviewing them. Hopefully we'll have someone on board in the next couple of months and we'll be able to start getting the cost-saving and, most importantly, job creating work done.

They are busy times over here as we gear up for the end of our first official quarter with these ARRA programs. Reports are due by October 10 and all recipients and sub recipients should make sure that they are prepared with everything they need to report on. The deadline is rapidly approaching as we are now left with under a month remaining!

We've been getting a great response to the EECBG RFQ and a number of firms have expressed significant interest. I'm looking forward to seeing what responses we get on the 18th and think these could be very exciting times for Trenton and our environmental sustainability

The EECBG grant agreements came in the door and were signed by Mayor Palmer within hours. We're very excited to see the first sum of money already and are certainly looking forward to getting our consultants online and getting a robust conservation strategy in place

City of Trenton - Purchasing and RFP'S

The RFP for consulting services for the EECBG is out the door! Anyone interested in receiving a copy can follow the instructions at the link below. Keep in mind that responses are due September 18th and we're looking forward to getting quite a few impressive proposals.

The CDBG-R grant agreements are signed and back in the mail to HUD. We're still very excited that the federal government has given us these additional funds so are chomping at the bit to start spending and improving the City of Trenton!

The Request For Qualifications (RFQ) for technical assistance concerning the EECBG should be out early next week and we are looking forward to the proposals we expect to receive. We've gotten a lot of interest from energy and sustainability consultants in the area and are excited about the great benefits that will be brought to the City of Trenton through the block grant

The ARRA reporting site ( is live! Anyone that may be receiving ARRA funding as a prime or sub-recipient should head over, take the steps necessary to register, and take a look at it.

Just an update and reminder that is scheduled to go live on Monday, August 17. We'll be registering asap so that we can get a feel for the system in preparation for our first quarterly report. I encourage anyone else that may have recovery act funds to get registered early as well and feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
