Join me for the first “Teach Me Town Hall” of my campaign, happening at Eastside Park, West Shelter House, Saturday May 30th from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm in Trenton, Missouri.

This will be a space for open, honest conversations about the challenges facing our rural communities. I’ve learned that the people living these issues every day understand them best, and often have the most practical solutions.

These town halls are about listening, learning, and working together. Everyone is welcome, no matter your political affiliation. I’ve always believed in showing up for everyone, and that’s exactly what I intend to do.

We will also collect donation items for Bright Futures Trenton A list of needed items include: body wash, shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, packages of pencils, notebooks and backpacks.

On Memorial Day, we pay tribute to the brave men and women in uniform who gave their lives for this country that we love. It is a debt we can never fully repay, but we must never stop trying. I’ll always be grateful to our fallen heroes and their families, whose sacrifice reminds us of what it means to live for something greater than ourselves.

Democrats to Meet
Grundy County Democrats will meet Tuesday, May 5th, at noon, at the Pizza Hut, in Trenton. There will be a short business meeting of the Democratic Committee followed by discussion of upcoming events. A meeting with Casey Scott, the Democratic candidate for the Missouri House of Representatives, is being planned for later in May, the specific time to be announced later.

FOLKS! HUGE NEWS! Candidate filing suddenly reopened in State House District 2 when the incumbent stepped out at the last minute and Casey Scott, a working mother and rural health professional from Trenton, STEPPED UP to fight for working people! Thank you!

She filed this morning in HD2, bringing the total number of races contested by a Democrat statewide to 184 out of 189 – or 97.4% of all state or federal races in Missouri.

Josh Smead - Candidate for Congress to Speak

Josh Smead, candidate for Congress in the 6th District, will be in Trenton, Saturday morning, March 14th, at 10:00, at “The Space”, 903 Main Street. Smead, an architect, resides in Liberty with his wife and children where he owns Liberty Design and Development. The candidate continues to travel throughout the district listening to residents and engaging with communities to better understand the needs of the 6th Congressional District.
The public is invited to visit with the candidate from 10:00 – 11:00. Light refreshments will be served.
Following the candidate’s appearance, the Democratic Committee will have a short business meeting.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dedicated his life fighting for equity and justice. He taught us that even in the face of intimidation and discrimination, we must never stop working towards a better future – a lesson that feels especially relevant today.

Change has never been easy. It takes persistence and determination, and requires all of us to speak out and stand up for what we believe in. As we honor Dr. King today, let’s draw strength from his example, and do our part to build on his legacy.

I’ve always said our nation has a sacred obligation: to prepare those we send into harm’s way, to support their loved ones when they are gone, and to provide for them and their families when they come home.

To honor that call, when I was President one of my proudest accomplishments was signing the PACT Act — the most significant expansion of care and benefits for veterans exposed to toxic substances.

This Veterans Day, we honor all the brave men and women who answered the call to serve and defend. Our nation is stronger and our democracy more secure because of their service and sacrifice.
