Looking for some friendly competition before the fireworks? The Troy Community Engagement Committee is excited to announce the July 4th Co****le Tournament, organized by Jimmy Horner! Whether you're a seasoned pro or just love a good backyard game, grab a partner and come out for a fun morning on the 4th of July.

💰 Cash Prizes Up For Grabs!
We are playing for keeps this year. The top three winning teams will split the entry fees, so the more teams that register, the bigger the cash pot gets! 💸

Here is everything you need to know to get in on the action:

📅 Event Details
⏰ Time: Thursday, July 4th. Day-of registration begins at 8:00 AM, and the tournament kicks off at 9:00 AM.

📍 Location: 4-H Grounds Baseball Field.

💰 Entry Fee: $30 per team (Cash only, paid at the tournament).

🍔 Food: Concession stand will be available on-site to keep you fueled up!

🎒 What to Bring
A partner to team up with.

Lawn chairs to relax between rounds.

Your own co****le boards if you have them (the more the merrier!).

Disc Golf Course Grand Opening Planned
The public is cordially invited to attend the Grand Opening for the Fox Trot Fairways Disc Golf Course at the Troy Community Park in Troy. The event will be held on Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to noon and will feature fun activities, food, and giveaways. There is no admission charge and everyone is invited.

Disc golf enthusiast Donnie Dugger will demonstrate some disc golfing skills and tips on the sport at 10:15 a.m. that morning. Discs will be given away, and the Lentz Express Food Truck will be on hand with food to purchase during the grand opening. At 11 a.m., the Doniphan County Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting at the nine-hole course, which was completed in the fall of 2025.

Lentz Express Food Truck will have a variety of foods on the menu for purchase that day including burgers, fries, tenderloins, pulled pork nachos, and fresh-squeezed lemonade.

Troy Community Park Committee members are pleased to have the addition of this disc golf course at the park and believe it provides yet another reason to visit the park. They are eager to show the disc course off to area residents at the Grand Opening.

“We invite everyone to come and join the fun at the park, to hear from a disc golf enthusiast how to play the game and also to be able to get a tasty bite to eat at Lentz Food Truck,” says Selena Smith, a Park Committee member.

Smith and the other Park Committee members are very grateful to the sponsors who donated funds to build the course and to the other supporters who helped with the project in numerous ways. The park is located near the intersection of Myrtle St. and N. Park St. in Troy.

The rain date for the Grand Opening is June 13.
