THANK YOU to all of the people who supported our United For Trumbull campaign.

I’ll say it again, of all the athletic, business and community service organizations I’ve been involved with, I’ve never been more proud to be associated with anyone than these incredible good people on this campaign.

From the bottom of my heart, I’m beyond blessed and grateful.

We came close, but in the end, it was in the hands of God and the voters.

Many of you know that the biggest push for me to run for Trumbull First Selectman came on June 28th, and that happened to be my dad’s birthday.

My father was always involved in local politics. We had district campaign headquarters at our house every year, and he served on Stamford’s Bd of Representatives for three decades.

My cousin recently sent me this picture of the program book for a testimonial dinner held in his honor. Notice the date, Nov. 7, 1970.

Election Day this year is November 7th!

Please get out and vote for our United For Trumbull team on Republican Row B tomorrow, “November 7”!

2015. I wasn’t involved in politics, but hosted a Trumbull Wines (not whines!) event at my store.

Why? Because too many people from town were fighting on line, and my mom taught me “it’s hard to hate up close”. She was right, everyone had a great time. At my store in Monroe, we were UNITED for Trumbull.
At my truck at 3am, (none of us expected the meeting to go on so late) I brought my gas grill and coolers of hot dogs and drinks, and invited both parties to gather after the meeting to enjoy each other’s company in a non political gathering. There were at least 25 of us there, from both sides.

I was a champion to the local democrat party when I crossed the aisle to support: getting bids on building a pool, switching to 7 districts, allowing them to maintain an alternate to the BOF (speaking from the floor they all applauded and cheered for me), and respecting former FS and US Marine by voting to overturn legislation that prevented Raymond Baldwin Jr. From serving on the police commission.

Today, there are fake social media accounts, and twists to our United For Trumbull campaign. To be clear, United for Trumbull is Lisa Tesei-Valenti (U), John Del Vecchio (D), Rosemary Seaman (D)and myself (R) being UNITED across party lines to work together in the best interest of the people in town. It’s sad but not surprising to see our campaign, and our team, me mostly, be slandered by the “hate has no home here” people.

I wonder if the leaders of the local Democrat party will be honest enough to tell you that they asked me repeatedly to become Independent, and run on their line for First Selectman not that long ago!!

My opponent is my friend today, and will be my friend in two weeks. I have not and will not make any personal attacks, John, and Lisa have not done so either.

To the people supporting our movement, I ask that you don’t respond to the negative attacks.

In all of my years of managing people, being involved in boards, commissions, charities and athletic teams, I’ve never been so proud as I am to be running with our complete United for Trumbull team. These people are selfless and patriotic.
