My journey:
As a young girl, I loved hearing stories about my ancestors. I would listen to my parents, grandparents,
uncles and aunts tell stories of the past. In 1978, I took it upon myself to find more of my family roots. I was able to research my family tree through letter writing, phone calls, and visits to libraries, history sites, and family members and eventually the internet! My past relatives also had documented their journey. The foundation of my family tree research is only due to their passion.
I started with myself and spent the next 40 years connecting additional members to my tree . My tree is public on Ancestry.com and at this time is over 11,600 people. I have many different family members from many countries including being Native American. I don't have riches to leave when my journey is over but I do have a legacy of an extensive family tree. This has always been my passion.
I am from Oklahoma known before statehood as Indian Territory. I am Creek and Cherokee PROVEN ANCESTRY by having BOTH my Great Grandmother and my 2nd GREAT Grandmother being on the Dawes rolls (documented persons and quantum degree blood in the tribes for the 5 civilized tribes.) Being Native American has helped myself and my family with benefits.
I can help to find your Native American ancestry to connect yourself to your ancestry! It is exciting to know about the culture and customs of your Tribal ancestry.
